Your people may be hearing from my people ......

..... my earlier post for "SCREEN" and the use of Eden Hills Fire Station sign for the letter "E", which passed adjudication by ST2UP.  Hence there is a clear precedent for using a town sign which is on a fire station...

A precedent?  Mmmmm ..... my position is that, that use of a fire station pic is acceptable because of the 'wild card' rule.  To be truly acceptable the use of the wild card should be declared - that one probably slipped by the adjudicators.

I again refer the adjudicators to these quotes:

.... to be eligible it needs to be a Picture of your bike or your bike with others in front of a Town or Suburbs sign, it may be the Town welcome sign, Towns elevation or population sign, but sign that clearly identifies and or promotes the Town or Suburb you are entering or leaving. A sign on the local post offices that say's i.e. Omeo Post Office established 1908 wont make the grade ....

.... to be clear the sign needs to be a sign on the entrance or exist to a town/suburb .....

This may need to be settled at Toowoomba, looser buys winner a beer (PS. I thinks I still owe you a beer for the little grommet thinghy you fabricated for me?)
Cheers,  Williamson (AKA Michael)

The addition of the Fire Stn pic was a close call....However what got it over the line was the simple "wildcard" addition  :like there is even humour present if your warped enough to see it  :grin

This is like winning the Sydney-Hobart on appeal in the High Court, rather than by being the first over the line.   :fp

However, I note Williamson's concern and in the future will attempt to refrain from using "Town or Suburb" signs that may be controversial. (Is the precedent for the use of Photoshop still OK   :well)  As an aside, note that I could not find a sign at the entrance of the town of Zeehan and needed to settle for the fire station.   I guess it's off to Zurich then to grab a photo that will satisfy the critics.   :grin

I can't argue with that:

I was thinking of passing through Zeehan next year after the Ulysses AGM, or Zumsteins, or Zeerust - might be a bit far to go to find out there ain't a township sign.

To kick this game back into life, which has not seen activity for nearly a year, I'll answer my own PEGS challenge:

Prospect Hill
Echunga
Goodwood
Stanley

If this passes adjudication, I'll post the next word.

I could do it using mostly suburbs around the greater Darwin area.  Is this allowable?

Under the rules set out in the very first post, Suburbs Count as Towns.

I was thinking "TRANSMISSION" might be too difficult, so I'll go for HUB and try to get some new blood into this challenge.  Pull out your old photos and let's see where you've been.  :thumb

Tassie has a location on the maps shown as "Nowhere Else".     https://goo.gl/maps/EbgQkJPTG4w    I spent some time searching all the roads, looking for a sign to be used in this game, but unfortunately could not find anything.   There is another "Nowhere Else" in SA's west coast near Elliston
