Anabranch North

Same locality, different view.

VALVES will be difficult, I only have one 'V' town in my library, and I've already used it.  Time to go for a ride methinks.  Only problem is I will be away for 10 days, taking the RAV4, won't get any bike pics until weekend of 3 & 4 February.

I must admit, I don't have any V's (in photos I have checked).  I struggled to find an H despite knowing off the top of my head a dozen places starting with H that I know I have been to and taken photos (but no signs).

I have three "v"s but aren't playing for the time being.   Let's see who else bobs up and can complete the current challenge which is VALVES

Have the route planned to make the word,  very straightforward, just no time to do it.

I see "Ibusuki" but not sure how we get to allow "Nagashima" since it is an English forum after all.

I went out this arvo, hunting.  Too many suburbs and even local small towns have no signs.  Frustrating.  Plenty of business signs, but that's not the game.

I found an "N" for chains but it was on a round-about and I wasn't stopping there after having a Copper pull up beside me at an earlier sign and point out a "No Standing" (i.e. an "S" with a slash) sign 5 metres behind me.  He let me go but it sure adds to the challenge!  Funnily, in the time it took him to explain my sin, (I had to take my helmet off to hear him across the car) he had accumulated two vehicles behind him on what is a fairly quiet street.

Good luck with the "Vs" Shillas.  There are only three widely spread across Brisbane, and one of those is only a locality, not a suburb or town.

The blue on the sign says Nagashima and matches the kanji in this link.

VALVES is a nasty bit of work!  The nearest one here is Virginia, and she has no signs on any roads.  But my recent FarRide turned up

VALE VIEW

and APPLETHORPE

Not far from here is LAWNTON

and for my Wildcard, I'm cheekily using the second part of VALE VIEW

From my first visit to EUNGELLA

and last weekend at STANTHORPE

OK Stinkypete.  Let's see your GAUGES

Very clever use of the wildcard, and considering Vale View has two "Vs", very apt too!

Some very basic rules:-
- One town to one letter, no double up of towns for double letters in a word
- One wild card per word, (A humorous, But CLEAN picture of any Town/Suburb has to be posted)

Does Vale View count as a double up?  We have a Valley View here and I think there was a Victoria Valley near Halls Gap, although I didn't see a sign for the latter when I went there.

Anyway,

Goolwa, South Australia

Anabaranch South, New South Wales

Ungarra, South Australia

Galore, New South Wales

Enngonia, New South Wales

Saint George, Queensland

Next word is WEIGHT as in the weights you put on your rims to balance your tyres.

Mmmmm ........ a bit sus!!

The idea of this game is to ride and take pictures of your bike with the town or suburbs sign corresponding with the letters of the Motorcycle related word nominated in the game.

I suppose if one squints for a long, long time and imagines that they can see a reflected view of your motorbike in your helmet visor, they may be able to convince themselves that this pic is eligible.

Is that we supposed to do BG?

I'll assume that's what we have to do.

Wildwood

Everton

Ida Bay

Granite Flat

Hill End

The Channon

Those of us with a keen eye (Pete) may notice that I've posted an ST pic with the Ida Bay sign in the background previously, like here:

I - Ida Bay

But this is a different pic.

PS.  Looking back, I have duplicated a few pics.  It hasn't been picked up by now, so I reckon I have got away with it.

Does Vale View count as a double up?

I did say it was acting as a Wildcard.  I know! Technically a Wildcard is supposed to be a humorous picture.
At least it has my ST in the frame!    :p

Thanks for the tip.  Now I'm in the game, I'll be watching!    :-(((
I hadn't previously twigged that it was acceptable to have more than one sign from a town.  Now I'm awake up to that, it has enlarged my collection a bit.

So...  What's the 6 letter word, Willy?

The two white bars in the bottom corners are the mirrors of the bike, so some of the bike is clearly visible.

Clearly visible?   Better chance of seeing a reflected view in your visor.

Those patches of blur!?  I was looking for a bike part and took those to be road surface.
Talk about stretch the definition of "include your bike in the photo"!    :rofl
Here was I doubting the validity of one I got yesterday through the windscreen (with all the panel, half the tank and bars) because I was sitting next to a yellow line with cars whizzing past my right elbow.
