Usually they say the I's have it, but I have no I's... which is why I had to scrape out Ibuski the other day.  That said, I've probably got an Ironbank somewhere.

Sounds like an argument for a bit of reorganisation of your photos.

I am in the process of doing that.  Unfortunately there are only so many usb-hdd's you can plug in at any one time.

I've got one of those USB port multipliers that gives me 4 ports off one.  I needed it when I got a USB printer.  The downside is when it's turned on it throws the lappy's second port that I use frequently from F drive to G drive which upsets a back-up batch file that I run.

I have one of those two.  It played havoc with the mouse until I put the mouse in it's own port.

Eyre, South Australia

Naoiri, Ōita

Gillenbah, New South Wales

Iron Knob, South Australia

Nelson, Victoria

Eucla, Western Australia

*Eyre is a relatively new suburb of Adelaide.  It was created on the day I started my Halls Gap trip and this was the fist photo in my ride report.
Before then it was part of Daveron Park.

Next word is

PANNIER (f seven letters is too many feel free to omit one 'N').

I went for a 589 km ride today and picked up a few town signs that got me back into the game.
Since I only have one "N", I'll take Bodo's offer and keep it to a 6 letter word.

I did a search and the work "gasket" has been used 69 times, but never in this game, therefore:

GASKET

Quite possible- if it was around 8:40.  I was headed to meet a bunch at Crows Nest, thence on to Bunya Mountain.  I picked up "Quinalow".  Is there a bike-related word with a "Q" in it?     :runyay

I too have a Q (and an X).  I hoped to get Zumsteins at the Halls Gap RTE but couldn't find a locality sign.

Quick shifter, quad lock...

Waaay too many letters!    :p

There's a dispensation for lack of locality sign if you can find a Rural Firebrigade, district Hall or similar with the sign.
But you get shamed if someone can find a genuine roadside sign for the location.

Fishermans Bay, South Australia

Elizabeth, South Australia

Nhill, Victoria

Dalby, Queensland

Evanston Gardens, South Australia

Renmark, South Australia

I'm playing Evanston Gardens as a wild card.  There are four Evanston localities in that area and I could not find a single sign for any of them.  Whoever administers Gawler should have a good look at themselves.

That Casterton sign is magnificent.
Quaint that Hay supports a Poker Run.  And it's called a what?!

So Pete, what's the challenge word?

You sure get around, Bodo, quite apart from your Japan rides.

I too have a photo of that Casterton sign.  And a video of me jumping off it and losing my balance.
