Can you do it near a random tin shed so we can guess where it is?   :whistle

I don't know of any random tin sheds .. :p
I do know of one on a discontinued railway line though... :grin

I tell you what, I'll take it out of the box during the week and post a pic... :grin

Well, I took it out of the box today!  :grin

The pic includes non standard items such as the extra long front camera cable I got courtesy of Navman and also a larger SD Card (128GB) to replace the standard 32GB card which came with the camera...  :popcorn

Guess what?  :think1
I've taken it out of the box again, connected cables, plugged a Micro SD card into it, hooked it up to a battery and...it works!!!  :runyay

Now I just have to get around to installing it on the ST...  :whistle

Maybe you should have ordered a round tuit with the dashcam  :grin

Let us know what you think of it once you get it into service.

Now I just have to get around to installing it on the ST...  :whistle

Well, I've made a start with the installation...although at this stage I've mostly been working out the best location for the main unit
which will be mounted in the rear of the bike alongside the tool kit as can be seen in the pic...

The problem is there's no real easy spot to mount it as you need to be able to access it fairly easily for micro SD card access.
The answer for me was to fit a small aluminium plate to mount it on.
This will make it easy to mount the unit using velcro which in turn will also allow access to the tool kit if needed.

Nearly finished with the install...  ++

I have both cameras installed; all associated cables fitted and secured, and some previous wiring altered and tidied up.
Not much else to do other than to hook up the final bit of wiring permanently and to then put the plastics back on.
I'm really pleased with the results and with initial views though the 2 cameras looking acceptable, it's all looking good so far!
Hopefully a test ride will confirm it all!  :X

Unfortunately I'm busy over the weekend so I probably won't get to complete things until early next week. :||||

I'll post up a few photos at some point too...

Well, I finished the camera install tonight and the mighty ST is all back together and ready for a test ride... :runyay
It all ended up probably easier than I thought it may have been.

As can be seen in the photos I mounted the rear camera right up under the top box.

While the Top Box/ rack/grab handles are made of cast alloy or such, I discovered the central part was actually plastic.
So, I made the decision to drill a hole through it which then enabled me to run the camera cable straight through into the under-seat compartment.
To do this I had to completely remove the top box mount but doing this resulted in a very tidy setup...

With the front camera I wanted to keep it fairly discreet, so I kept it tucked back under and to one side of the headlight.
I kept it offside as I was concerned that under extreme braking the mud guard may hit the camera if it was centrally mounted.
I was also concerned that part of the bodywork would appear in the cameras view so I spent a fair bit of time with its eventual placement
trying to keep any bodywork appearance to a bare minimum while still trying to keep the camera fairly well tucked away.

I guess I'll know how successful I was once I do any final adjustments of the cameras after a few test rides...  :popcorn

Here's the view from the cameras...
Must say I'm a little disappointed with the picture quality, especially from the rear camera, although that may be
because it's mounted well under the top box so not getting as much light to it...  :think1

I think the rear camera is a lower resolution as well, which doesnt help. Mind you its better than nothing, and they have come a long way over the years.

It was/is advertised as being Full HD 1080P Recording Front and Rear...  :think1

I'm yet to delve into all the settings so I may be jumping the gun in my criticisms, I guess time will tell...

Cheers  :beer

These days they usually are 1080P front and rear, with no settings adjustments necessary.  Giving the cameras a wipe to remove dust from tie to time helps.
