Wanting solo seat
« on: January 08, 2014, 06:05:44 PM »
I've just aquired a Honda ST1100 ex-police bike (2000) & was wanting to replace the dual seat with a solo seat. I thought this forum would be the right place to look for a solo seat. I have a cowling (in the mail) but I'm not having much luck locating a solo seat. It doesn't need to be polished & pretty...(for the bike certainly isn't!!!) for I can have it re-covered. I'm quite happy to buy the seat. Hoping to hear from someone who can help.

Nah, just realised that Jolson is a bit further north than me so wont be as simple as I would have liked?

Bit of a bummer but never say never heh. Maybe a Vic ride will fix it?

Thank you for your quick replies! I thought I would be waiting a while for just one reply!! I have no way of choosing so I'll go with the first response which was Nigel. Wishing the remaining best of luck with their mission of finding their dual seat. Cheers!

Hi Jolson, I see that your in Sydney didnt realise that at the time of posting. So if you get an offer from someone more local please take it . I dont think I can get up north for a few months yet. My plan was to do a meet and greet and do a swap on the spot , sort of a ride in ride out sitch. I see Gavo is in the same boat. I`m sure it will all work out .  Would you be attending the National Rally , Ballarat in March? :wht11  Thanks Nigel

Check out eBay and gumtree, eBay UK is the place for secondhand ST parts,
Some people are happy to post to Australia I have bought a few items from there,
A factor to take into consideration is postage, surface mail can take 3 months or more, whereas airmail
Is faster it costs more. It all depends how fast you need the seat, if you PM me I'll send you
Details how to convert the pod into an opening one.
