At the Neil & Valerie Tavern
Saturday 29 February 2020

This an evening RTE, so roll-up time will be around 6:00pm - unless otherwise notified.

Due to this RTE being held at one of our member's private residence, these threads in the public realm, and for privacy, the address will not be posted.  This is because we do not want any ne'er-do-well or member of 1% motorcycle club rolling up to our event.   For those wwith a keen eye,the green marker on the aerial pic is close by.

All those confirmed as attending are asked to contact (PM or SMS, or whatever) Neil and he will provide that information.

I can't post a menu, because I don't know what you are bringing, ie. this is to be self-catered, BYO.  But I'm sure if we all bring a
bowl or plate of your favourite salad and / or dessert etc.. there will be enough for all to share.

I will start something along the lines of an "RTE Avonsleigh" Personnal Message, so as we don't get too many
garden salads and no desserts, or vice a versa - although come to think, a dozen pavlovas wouldn't be too bad.

For those that don't / want to ride or drive home there are some accomodatinon options within a very long walk or taxi ride.

Neil has also indicated that there is plenty of space within the one acre garden for anyone that wants to pitch a tent, and then there will be the BBQ breakfast on Sunday morning for a hangover cure.

Fixed.  I'll stop posting from the iPhone, too hard to review and too easy to make mistakes.

Alternatively, I'll send DRAFTS to you to check before postiing.

BBQ for the evening?  Don't know, I suppose so, but Neil will confirm.  When confirmed numbers / persons attending are settled, I'll start a PM messaging thread and then it'll be open to all those attending to know / workout what to bring.

I've had a coupla PMs and SMSs re. the address (15B Avon Road) in the above pic with concerns that this is Neil and Val's address - this is not the case.  It is the address of the closest feature to Neil and Val's shown on GMaps.  Neil and Val's address will be provided, in due course, by PM or SMS to those that have indicated interest in attending this RTE.

The address in the pic is the local preschool.  Some people may wish to use this as a reference for planning their way to the RTE, but please do not crack-a-tinnie, put a prawn on the barbie, or pitch your tent at this location, otherwise there may be a group of 3 or 4 years olds and staff that get an unexpected surprise on the Monday morning.

I take it that everyone knows where to go (only Russell has asked for the address) otherwise it's gunna be crowded in the preschool carpark.

This is a BBQ RTE, ie. BYO.   In this case it will be a BYO BBQ items, snags, chops, steaks, or vegan sausages (in Nigel's case), but I reckon  It would be a good idea if we shared a few large salads and deserts.  So who's gunna put their hand up for what?  I'll start with:


There's no fear of running out of dots for this one.

Sue's been given the boot from cooking (as she's flat out with work) so it looks like it will be me doing the pasta & dip and most likely me doing the dishes as well...  :p

Hi all, bad news from Camp Nigel. Due to some uncontrollable urge to hit someone. { Kidding of course }. I will be a scratching for tonight. All good for Ride next week though. Will be munching on Coleslaw for the next few weeks though :eat Have a great night all .

N&V got in touch with the details for tonight, unfortunately, not having time to be on the forums much, I completely missed that this was an evening event! With my 2up heading home at 4pm, and two little sickies at home, I’m not going to be able to sneak out, sorry all!

Yeah, a real bummer, I took him out door a ride through the hills before his mum came instead, so at least we got some quality 2-wheel time together.

Well, what a great night!  :runyay

Firstly, a big thank-you to our hosts, Neil & Valerie for opening up their lovely home for this RTE.
It was a very pleasant night with great company and a huge feast!

Oh, and a special mention must go to those who made the desserts...they were sooo yummy!

It was also a pleasure meeting the "internationals", Andy & Brenda...what a lovely couple!
