Hello and thanks for letting me in.
« on: May 11, 2019, 12:00:21 AM »
Hello everyone,

New member here. My name is Geoff and I’m from Brisbane. I have not yet purchased my bike. It’s been 30 years since I last owned a bike. Life and family took over, but now it’s my time again. After loads of research and knowing that I wanted comfort in my travels, all my research led me to the ST1100 as the bike I could afford that ticked all the boxes.

So here I am. Still a few months away from the actual purchase but now I know what I want, I will continue to read and research everything I can on this beautiful machine. I look forward to hitting the road soon and joining some of the great rides I have seen on this page.

Cheers

Geoff

Welcome from another Brissie OzStocer.  I had an ex-Police ST1100 and loved it.  There are always plenty of them for sale around the country.  Don't be afraid to ask one of us to go with you for an inspection, or ask a member in another State to check one out for you.  I flew to Victoria to pick up my latest ST.
For the modern man who lives in the city, riding a bike might be one of the only ways to escape the humdrum monotony. To take off and ride. To be both at one with nature and one with the bike. To feel masculine. Adam Piggott

Welcome Geoff. (Also in Brisbane)

Get along to a RTE (Ride To Eat) even before you get a bike and meet the crew, and get done more pointers.

Great bunch of people here.

I haven't had a bike for over 3.5 years and still hang out here for the great mateship.

Enjoy the search and acquisition.

I noticed this nothing there's a ST1100 advertised here with good extras (farkles) for $4,000.

I do recommend ABS models, having had both non and ABS bikes and the ABS works really well in the wet.

Hi Geoff and welcome to OzSTOC from up near Mackay.    :hatwave    Ourselves, Shiney & Gadget have organised some Qld RTE's (Ride-To-Eat... drive yourself or ride your STeed to a cafe, meet up with other OzSTOCers, eat nice stuff  :EatCake, drink lotsa coffee, head home, repeat when the next RTE rolls around)... and at a Maryborough members' suggestion, we're coming your way... http://ozstoc.com/index.php?topic=13201.0 ... Cheers, John&Kate.
