VIC RTE 2024
« Reply #75 on: March 03, 2024, 06:08:12 PM »
Hmmm, I wonder if any of our lot would be interested in a Mid Week RTE?  :think1

I reckon there would, select a time, date and destination and start a thread, you'll find out soon enough.  There's a few still working that'll find is difficult to find the time, but there's many retired that would find it easy.

I like the idea obviuosly depending on the weather etc. Wednesday isnt my best day though. Its the only day we have regular things on during the week.

Also the location is important so we dont have to go toooo far.

Seeing as it's just shy of 300km between Russ and you, and a trip through Melbourne or around, an ideal location for both will likely be problematic.  I'm in the middle, it'll be easier for me to fit in with whatever venue is selected.

How about we try for one in April and see how it goes.
Might have the GL registered by then. One can hope.

« Reply #80 on: May 13, 2024, 06:15:59 PM »
Feast your eyes, drool all over the laptop, take a deep breath and an extra blood pressure pill, whatever ...... and Save-the-Dates.

The 2024 VIC RTE Schedule, hereafter to be officially known as the 2024 VIC Royal Tour is presented below.

Although arranged by OzSTOC Victoria, members from outside VIC are welcome, encouraged to attend.  Some of this is subject to change (venues have not been booked so far ahead), but there won't be a need to change dates, so lock 'em in.

Details re. per event (err, leg of the Tour), will be posted a month or two prior in a specific thread.

Any questions to Gary (ppopeye) Russell (Rustynutz) or me.

You can give me the first dot on the Sebastabol thread when you make it.  Hopefully the roster god will be kind to me, although we're getting a new one next week so may not know my preferences.

Thanks Rusty, saw the posts yesterday but as we've both come down with heavy colds or flu, on a physical, mental & emotional roller coaster, at times I can't think straight or decide on anything more than, do you want a coffee?

Re. future RTE's:
  • July - organised at Drouin
  • August - I'll post that after Drouin
  • September - this might be changed - more below
  • October - I'll post that after September's

September at Portland?  Helen & I are heading north with the Jeep & caravan for the balance of the winter, leaving 19 July, returning early October.

I won't have the drive or will to try and pull together an overnight RTE before we leave, or when on the road.  If someone wants to take this over, or organise a different location, let me know by posting in this thread.

I'm guessing the only person really disappointed about a different location will be Kev Murphy.

Also guessing that only Rusty or Garry will be "someone".

Bear in mind post below re Portland... a chang in venue shouldn't be an issue but a change of date would.

Annual leave booked for friday september 13th and monday 16th of december so if you don't change the dates I'll be up for both Portland and Snake Valley.  If the venues change I'll go with the flow.

Wishing you & Helen a speedy recovery...  :thumbs

We're heading north next month and while we'll be back before the Portland RTE date I'm not sure the wallet will appreciate an overnighter (or 2) so we'd be happy to have an RTE closer to home.

I'm guessing that the warmer, or at least not-so-cold, weather will be welcomed.

Well here's your opportunity to make it a day trip and get it closer to home ..... keeping in mind Bodo's post.

Definitely! I'm a bit over these cold mornings...

Hmmm, not sure if either of these would be a possibility or not...

The ride in from Traralgon is great fun...  :grin

Probably not ideal for Bodø (or ppopeye) though...

Then there's this place: https://pigandwhistletavern.com/
It's a little bit more central...  :think1

Either way I should be overnighting two nights somewhere (friday and saturday) so any saturday lunch should be doable if it's doable from Melbourne).  Balook and Olinda would both be doable I'd say.  I do like the sound of Olinda (for reasons).

I thought you'd be used to it seeing as until recently you lived in Melbourne!  :grin
But, I know how you feel as we (Sue & I) seem to have to head through Melbourne for the majority of our RTEs...  :popcorn
