Title: Lions Road - Kyogle NSW.
Post by: Gadget on January 12, 2018, 06:23:21 AM
For the past 18+ Months, the old timber bridges on Gradys Creek Rd have been in the process of being replaced.

The Lions Road reopened just before Christmas.

There is one more timber bridge, on a section of Lions Rd known as the high road.

This section will be closed to traffic for about three months.

Traffic can detour around the site using the section of Gradys Creek Road, also known as the Low Road.

While the Low Road is gravel, it can accommodate most traffic. However it does have a number of causeways so it should be avoided during periods of wet weather.

In the past I've ridden my ST1300 through the Low Road before it was recently graded. Quite rideable and enjoyable  for me, as that section brings back finds memories of my childhood.

Local reports are the recent grading has made it passable for all cars. There may be loose gravel to contend with.

Council will be monitoring the gravel road and causeway condition during the 3 months and repairing (grading) where necessary.
