Finally, after weeks of detailed planning and many revisions Saaz and I have decided upon:

Leg 1. BP, Coffs - Caltex, Warnervale (-33.254408,151.404899)
Leg 2. Caltex, Warnervale - BP, North Gundagai
Leg 3. Same as Leg 2
Leg 4. Same as Leg 1

All legs approx 4 hours. Coffee breaks at Warnervale and Gundagai.

Leg 2. Caltex, Warnervale - BP, North Gundagai
Leg 3. Same as Leg 2
Leg 4. Same as Leg 1

All legs approx 4 hours. Coffee breaks at Warnervale and Gundagai.

That looks very familiar, to the one that was posted originally, (sorry but I removed it) one would suggest that there will be a few riders doing the same.
OUT
Approximate arrival at Caltex, Warnervale (Jillby) 434Km  - 6.20am   refuel/ coffee break 20 min  - depart 6.40am
Approximate arrival at BP, North Gundagai (Dog on the Tuckerbox) 452Km - 11.11am  refuel/coffee break 20min depart - 11.31am
BACK
Approximate arrival at Caltex Warnervale (Jillby) 452Km - 4.20pm  refuel/coffee break 20min  - depart  4.42pm
Approximate arrival at BP, Coffs Harbour  434Km - 8.43pm

TOTAL approximate time - 18 Hrs 43min - 1772Km  (overall average speed of around 96Kph)

Using the above figures riders will have around 5 Hours up their sleeve to use as they see fit, maybe for extra rest periods, collecting receipts and adding information to a log, taking photographs (at least one at the Dog on the Tuckerbox would be great), being held up at roadworks etc.

For those new to LDRiding, I would suggest playing with the all of the approximate times above to see how it may fit in with your riding style.

The road from Goulburn to Yass is one I have traveled on only a few times over the years. Probably the only part of the Hume that I don't know like the back of my hand!

Yep, Jillby is a favourite- it's got a Maccas, so good coffee pretty quickly, handy parking and quick access off and back onto the expressway.
Good choice!

Some concrete and a small wind farm, you haven't missed much. Although I didn't see much of it in the fog at all on Tuesday night which is a shame. I really like wind farms. The ones on the other side of Lake George are too far away to count.

If you like windfarms there is a backroad from Goulburn that bypasses Tarago, and comes up close to the northern most windfarm.  Just take the currawong road (off to the right, just after the Taranna public school zone) when leaving Goulburn towards Tarago, sealed all the way. It goes past the old Woodlawn mine which is now the Sydney waste disposal place (bio reactor). Well worth a look if it is open.

Goulburn to Yass is one of the coldest places to ride in winter, if there is fog and temperature is zero or less as the valleys hold the fog and the sun rarely comes out.  Canberra feels warm in comparison.
