Something to bare in mind prices shown are before tax, tax is added once you put it in basket.  :)

Is that only for UK customers?  In the USA, that's the case.  Customers outside the US get the items free of tax.

We only need to worry about our customs duty if a purchase exceeds $AUD1000 or a series of purchases exceeds that amount from the same supplier. Some items exempt from this.

These guys at David Silver Spares are excellent and they really know the ST1100. I  ordered a host of things, paid $160au (did not charge the VAT) and parts were delivered within 10 days. For the same parts here in Oz, I was quoted approx $340 and they would have to do a back order for two of the items needed. This was from Honda spares in Campbelltown and Rockdale Sydney. I can't speak highly enough of them.

Did you hear that the Government are thinking about lowering the taxable threshold to around $300?:spank :spank

It was in the news a couple of days ago. Bugger.

Even so, for most things I get from overseas the GST would make no difference as either the price difference is so large or not available here. All it would do is add inconvenience and time. Importers/wholesalers/retailers need to look to themselves as to why online shopping (including purchasing within Australia) is growing.  Harvey Norman put the mum and dad owned shops out of business, as did shopping malls, so his turn in the evolutionary process has come.

Thanks for this link!

I've been looking all over the place for one of these RHS crash bar covers! http://www.davidsilverspares.co.uk/ST1100PY-POLICE-PAN-EUROPEAN-2000/part_158014/ (http://www.davidsilverspares.co.uk/ST1100PY-POLICE-PAN-EUROPEAN-2000/part_158014/)

They only list models up to 2000, I assume for parts like this they are the same even in a 2002 model?

Cheers,

Mech.

Yep, they're the same on all models.

I bought the set as it would have looked weird having a new one on one side and a faded one on the other.

Cheers, will do the same.

Will wait until after I get the bike home as I may wish to add a few extra items to my shopping list  :)

Just purchased 45litre black Honda topbox from David Silver UK.

See http://www.davidsilverspares.co.uk/parts/by-part-number/partnumber_9182/ (http://www.davidsilverspares.co.uk/parts/by-part-number/partnumber_9182/)

Colour code matches my new black ST1300 (compliance plate 6/11)

Service was excellent and delivery from UK to Adelaide took 10 days.  Price was 295pounds plus 118pounds shipping!!! All up $651 by the time the credit card mob had applied its miserable exchange rate.  Still cheaper than local version I believe.

Minor problems with collars supplied for mounting plate screws (may be my lack of technical competence!) so not sure if this was to suit earlier model.  The UK site says it only supplies parts up to 2003 Pan European.  The US site states that it supplies parts for up to 2010 Pan European.  The same topbox was available there but David Silver US advised me it would be cheaper to buy from their UK site as freight was less!

Anyway, mounted it OK and it looks really nice.  Can fit two full-face helmets easily:- Shoei XR 1000 (M) and Arai Vector (L)

Only been on short ride so far, but Cherrie says the back-rest is helpful although she has to sit a bit further forward on the pillion seat.

Just ordered another set of OEM brake pads and the hanger pins as well for $239.82 (includes $6.87 currency fee) to my door which is about 1/3 of the local dealer price. They should be on or about the 21st and tracking says they are in Cologne, Germany.

David Silver spares are excellent to deal with, knowledgeable and efficient and much cheaper than down at your local Honda emporium. Recommended +++
