Good daily mileage... have pity on Pezzz who is only covering 100 km per day in 9 hours of travel.
There's some god-awful crappy roads in India!

No wonder so many of them come to Australia and start driving Taxis!  :rofl

I was unloading coal train ...

That would take most of us years with a really big shovel!

Besides, if you use a smaller shovel, its more hours labour with a lesser load...

Sabie, you have obviously never picked up a piece of iron ore... each of those 48 ore trucks contains 60 ton or more of ore... 4 to 5 times the weight by volume of coal

We haul 41 wagons with 2 loco's from the mine to the port of Brisbane, Fisherman Island
We are restricted in length because we have to travel through the Brisbane
Each wagon weighs up to 63 tonnes loaded that is approx 48 tonnes of coal in each wagon
We have a low speed control that maintains the speed to .8kph while unloading a bit better than
the old hump control that Sabie is talking about which you had to adjust the speed manually

Pretty decent load, Leo. I am unsure of the weight of the empty Iron ore wagons as I left Whyalla around 1970 and have only been back there once, in 1977

Tuesday at around 14:00 outside the coffee shop at Malainn Bhig on the N5115 parked along side our rental Astra. I did offer both ride n pillion a swap for the Astra, both declined. Probably because it wasn't raining and the roads around Dhun na Ngall county are better that Un Zud this time of the year.

Anyway, gutted They would take up the swap, we wished them well and hopefully the new Bridgestone 023 wouldnt shred itself like the one we were shown a pic of.

Enjoy the rest of your tour of the Emerald Isle Terry n Mel...shame 'bout the swap tho nevertheless :'(

Cheers😊
