Sunday 02/09 (Fathers Day) Blue 1100 on footpath in Morrison Road, Midland, rider appeared to be having problems with bike.
I did a U-turn and went back. He had just had bike serviced and he thought that a lead hadn't been connected properly as he had run his battery flat.
I carry jumper leads so we connected the 2 bikes and I charged it up for him. I then followed him to his home, about 5 k's, in case battery ran flat again. All was well.
Gave him one of our cards, he'd never heard of us, and invited him to our Maintenance Day on the 9th.
He said he will be in either Tibet or Nepal by then as he was flying out the following day to pick up a Royal Enfield in India, I think, and was then riding through Nepal and Tibet........... Lucky Bar Steward.
His name's 'Stretch', all 190+ cm of him. Stated he will have a look and join up on his return.
Also spotted a blue 1300 today, 6th, about 5:00 pm somewhere in Welshpool. Rider wearing a white? helmet travelling in opposite direction. Only spotted it through gap in 'Rush-Hour' traffic.
