The only ATGATT was the skid-lid... 1:49 reveals no trousers either..... hopefully you had your Y-fronts on!

That's fantastic Diesel. Where did you get the Contour and how much? I like the bike mounted footage of previous video footage by others so will be interested to see yours when you get around to doing it. Quality is great I reckon.
I rode 10 k's to work today with out gloves, jacket or my NEDS. Partners in crime Diesel. Guilty as charged.

Yes! I totally threw caution to the wind for once in my ride. It was kind of like smoking behind the school toilet block and NOT being caught! :thumbsup
I apologize. But save this vid - coz it's the only time you'll see it! :wink1
Now - back to the point of it....
I filmed this at 720p and will continue to use this resolution because of the following:
- it extends the battery life (per use) of the cam;
- it creates a file of exponentially less magnitude compared to the 1080p setting;
- it provides the ability to film almost 100% longer in terms of memory storage capacity of the 32Gb Micro SD card;
- the smaller file is easier to handle, upload, save, edit and view;
- the difference between 1080 and 720p isn't substantial enough to warrant enduring the first four points, visually; and
- unless you have NBN or Cable Broadband with the fastest of fast speeds, you will almost certainly reduce the quality of the vid to 720p, 480p or lower to facilitate a better viewing experience.

I have great vids of the RTE which I am working through to post a nice overview.
The RTE was shot entirely in 1080p HD (because I was testing and reached all the above conclusions afterwards).
I will post a couple of 'teasers' in the meantime. :thumb

Diesel, you and everyone else is entirely welcome. I thoroughly enjoyed the day out, the run itself was fun, the weather was superb and lunch was just as good. The company was terrific and I think we even had a couple of converts on other bikes who also enjoyed our company.
I'm really looking forward to seeing the video that you got, and if it's halfway as good as I think it might be I might even consider buying one of these cameras myself.
Have you decided on what software you are going to use to edit/convert the camera files? what file format does it use?
My motto is, Ride the ride you want to ride; and let everyone else ride the ride they want to ride...works for me!!

Good spot mate. It's a mod I did with help from Brock and Mal in the West to bypass the start-stop-start process of the headlight due to the cut-out switch when starting the bike and firing up the headlight HID array.
Have you decided on what software you are going to use to edit/convert the camera files? what file format does it use?
Haven't decided on vid editing s/ware yet mate. Raw file is .MOV - but you get the option for Quicktime (Mac) or Media Player (PC) playback.

I use this to convert video files:

and to edit for PC: there is either Windows Movie Maker or Sony Vegas
For Mac I use either iMovie, or Final Cut Pro

After searching for something for editing videos from my Contour Roam, I've decided that "Windows Live Movie Maker" is quite adequte for the job. I've also found that "Handbrake" is a free and powerful program that will convert/shrink video clips from one format to another. ie .wmv to .mp4 but with control over the amount of compression. http://handbrake.fr/downloads.php (http://handbrake.fr/downloads.php)

I use AVS Video Converter (http://www.avs4you.com (http://www.avs4you.com)) which, whilst not free, comes as part of a suite of programs that will convert almost anything to anything audio files etc. This is the program I recommended to Diesel and he seems very happy with it and the way it works. I've used it for a number of years and ahve yet to come across any major task that it cannot do.
