I was at East Maitland on Monday morning getting fuel at a caltex servo when a red ST1300 came in. The rider said there wasnt many ST's around. I assured him there was & I asked him had he heard of Ozstoc. He said he hadnt so I gave him the website details. He said he had owned the ST1300 for about 12 months and mainly used it for distance touring with his mates. He said he loved the bike. Hopefully a future member :)

Spoke with the rider of :13Candy on Tuesday in Forrestfield, or thereabouts, as he was refueling his wife's? bike.No doubt she yelled a few more words at him later |-i :grin
Just had time to hand him a card and show him the shirt before her tank overflowed and she yelled something at him. I said, "Sorry, my fault." and got out of there quick-smart.
He waved,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,She didn't.
We'll see what happens.

Marissa and I saw a group of riders heading into Tin Can Bay yesterday led by an ST1300. There were about 4 ST's in the group including a white ST1100. May have been the local Ulysses club out for their Sunday run. There was also a Harley trike in the group.

Shiney you park there because you are "turning tricks" (working = male escort) at the Casino??? so you can afford farkles, and a tent that houses the ST.
Maybe he wasn't, Abe. I didn't find anyone doing that. Not that I'm experienced at looking for one of 'those' people. :-[ :eek
Not saying I was looking, of course.
I was just checking out the architecture whilst waiting for a bus. 8)
Have seen heaps at the Ulysses AGM. Gave a card to a volunteer who has an 1100, one to a rider on a 1300 and left one on the tank of another 1300.

That is what I'm thinking of doing when I can no longer hold mine up. Any idea where and who did the conversion?
:bl11
Well sort of, the story below explains. 8):-++ :-++ :thumb well done Gary
Accidently paid it forward this afternoon. As I was riding home, my left front indicator wasn't working so I pulled over on Moreton Drive to fix the loose wire. I pulled up behind a motorcycle (Ducati) and a Taxi. I assumed the Ducati had broken down and he was getting the cab home.
The guy in the bike gear was looking a little stressed, so as I remounted my bike to head home I caught his eye and gave a nod. He asked me something, so I pulled over, turned off the music in my ears, and asked him what he said. He said he was from Victoria, and he had come up for the Ulysses at Maryborough and his wife flew in at 1 pm this afternoon (it was now 5:40 pm), however, she flew into Sunshine Coast Airport. As he'd used his GPS in his phone, his phone was flat and he didn't know how to get to Sunshine Coast Airport. The Taxi was going to charge him $300, to guide him to the sunny coast. He offered me $200, to guide him. I declined and said I'd do it for nothing. He then said he needed fuel, so he'd top my bike up for the trip up and back.
At the Shell at Nudgee, I discovered he has a Honda ST100 back in Victoria and tha someone from OzSTOC had given him a card at the Ulysses meeting yesterday.
We plugged his phone into the USB charger I'd fitted to the my bike and we stopped again at BP Caboolture so he could give his wife a call. We let her know we'd be about another hour and took off again.
50 minutes later we pulled up at the Sunny coast Airport and Des and Nora were re-united. Again he wanted to pay me and again I declined. He'd covered my fuel costs, given me an excuse to stretch the legs on the ST and an opportunity to test the new headlight bulbs I fitted over the holidays.
I think we both benefitted, so I'm happy and I know he and Nora are very grateful I decided to stop there. All round win I think.
Is it one of those Wedgetail kits?
Spotted Beatup's trundler at Woodford - Wednesday 1330hrs. :13Candy

as rare as they are, Bikebear and HarieG both have the Goldies and have featured a few times, you have to bring them out with the smell of good food and free beer, but they are sighted from to time....

That would have been me sorry to miss the wave
I was heading down to Tuross Head
What impressed me far less... when discussing it in person later, she said it was "pretty" and liked that colour better than mine. She also said "it suited him because he was slim". :well :cuss
Maybe I need to get a white Goldwing?
:blk13
Ok so maybe some of us at not geometrically correct to ride the bikes we love but for god's sake man did she give the bloody chap a CARD.Sadly no. She didn't have any cards, and wouldn't have been able to anyway due to that fact they were both at the lights. She now has cards though. :hatwave
... Buy a gym club membership.Oh God! Please don't let her see that!... She keeps suggesting I sell the elliptical trainer to help pay for the bike - I do promise that one day I'll get back on that... when I don't like riding the ST anymore!
Monday arvo, crossing south over the Walter Taylor bridge at Indro. Blue 1300 in my mirrors.
Nicely set up with day LED daylighters on each side of the front shocks, and a mean looking set of spotties under each mirror.
A couple of aerials on the back end says this is a serious ST owner. :clap :thumbs
No card delivered. Bit hard to reach over the back seat of the wagon and give him a card. :||||

Blue ST1300 spotted at the Grey Gum Café on Saturday... He pulled up behind a couple of our members and slipped away un-noticed for a while, But we were a patient bunch and just waited in the sand storm :well till he came back to collect his bike....
Turns out he had owned his bike for about 3 years and was none the wiser about the club...
Lucky I had 13 others to help me convince him how good it is...
Card issued on the spot... welcome aboard ??????? Ooops - didn't get his name but I believe he lived a little ways north in a spot that made a few in the bunch go.... ooooohhh nice place that.

Obviously need to start carrying cards in glovebox so Missus can run down sighted bikes and deliver cards.
Dear Diesel,
I hope I will ride the bike into my 70’s ( now Close) and 80’s and 90’s. It is the best bike I have ever had, and with regular servicing every 5000km is so reliable.
Tons of power and handles well , will keep in touch.
Peter Collis, Upper Caboolture.
Yes... rather... but my own fault.. and not as expensive as yours are from memory. 20k over .. $150 and 2 points. Missed signs to drop speed as I was busy glaring at car driver that was being an idiot. Oh well.
Visited local Honda dealer to pick up a new tyre for one of my bikes and spied a new ST1300 owner manual on the counter waiting to be picked up. Slipped a card into the bag for new owner. :thumb

Passed a red 1300 and a blue 1300 slip sliding on the dirt road from Merriwa to Willow Tree today riding my Dominator home from a VJMC get together. Google maps shows it being tar (but it is some of the roughest dirt I have been on for a while) and I hope they didn't follow what Google said.
Out riding yesterday I spotted a :blk11 around the corner from my house (my first thought was... whats Streak doing in my area and not giving me a call :well) so I pulled over, and knocked on the door of the house.
Turns out it's not Streak but a great bloke by the name of Nate who was visiting a friend (lucky I rode by when I did :eek)
Nate has only had the :blk11 for a week but is loving it more and more :runyay
I gave him a card so will hopefully see him in the "Introduce Yourself & Your Bike" section of the forum soon :grin

What's the collective noun for a group of STs? A burble, perhaps a whistle. Maybe a clutter.
My wife has just bought me the Australia Motorcycle Atlas, 200 Top Rides.
So who were the six riders on four red ST1300s and two dark ST1100s who had their picture taken on top of Wivenhoe Dam - Ride number 7. The book was first published in 2003, but last updated in 2012, so maybe some OzSTOC members will remember the ride.

Spotted in Apollo Bay a blue ST1300 with a trailer, was in cafe so could not wave

Cheers!

This is a reverse spot!!. We were lunching at Peterborough SA today on our Red Centre tour (day 7 of 30) and were accosted by a couple of locals in the street wanting to give us an OZSTOC card. I had to show them my OZSTOC hat and OZSTOC patch on the back of my jacket to prove I was already a member.
Turned out to be Alan and Heather (Alans1100). We enjoyed a nice chat before going on our separate ways (we bound for Port Augusta). Just shows to go you, you can't go anywhere without being sprung by someone from OZSTOC. I bet not many ST's get through Peterborough without being recruited. Well done Alan and nice to meet you and Heather. Look forward to maybe catching up with you at one of our future rallies.
Cheers

Navy blue one on Waterloo Corner Road, Burton.
Picture the scene. Slightly dank motel room, with imaginative stains in the most unexpected places, decor of crossover late 70's early 80's style, if there is such a thing, interspersed with fading and peeling Formica, my tent draped on the furniture with all my other clothes. My not-very-waterproof jacket is dripping in the shower cubicle and there's a red screen on the telly saying "Beware heavy rain and flash flooding". Now that is the way to deliver a warning and mean it. When all of a sudden the roof fell in and there was the rain again, right there, in my room! You couldn't make it up. Well Ruth Rendell could perhaps, but it's not anything I'd have thought of.
It took just a moment of stunned disbelief before the uncontrollable laughter set in and it hadn't fully subsided when I did a Hugh Grant in the reception.

Red 1300 parked in High Street Strathalbyn around 2.30 No rider to be seen, but the bike goes by the name of "Hog Hunter" :crackupThat would be mine Shillas. I was having a coffee in at the Appleseed Cafe with a mate who rides a HD Sporty. I have a couple of mates who ride these dinosaurs hence the Hog hunter stickers - it's easy to hunt them down on the road! I went for the ride to test out the new Schuberth helmet - I have finally found a "quiet" helmet - quiet being a relative term.
Seems to work, when we rode in was about a dozen hogs in various places, including stopped in the middle of the road for a chat. When we left, one solitary hog.

Red ST1300 on South Eastern Freeway, Stirling, heading east at about 10.15am Anzac Day with two on board.I wish Shillas, after the Blackwood dawn service it was gardening duties for me for the next 10 hours (perhaps a slight exaggeration - but it sure felt like it). And it looks like Scarlett remains parked for the Glendambo run (even though I worked out an early departure and overnight at the Crystal Brook pub then home the next day would do it comfortably) - unless way too many stars get to align - an unlikely event.

I have been watching "Long Way Down" again, and noted that Ewan's Dad, who rode with them for a few days, was riding a red ST300. :thumbs
Spotted Dave Shiney heading home from work this morning. I waved but for some reason he was concentrating on the B double in front of him.

Sorry mate, I was paying a bit of attention to the trucks this morning, they had been changing speed a lot and changing lanes with little notice :fp
So please accept my belated wave now :hatwave

Whats wrong with your horn?
Is it broken and needs replacing?
I think I'd be devastated if I lost my horn :grin

On the afternoon of Tue, 28th Oct 2019, I was heading north on the Gateway Motorway at around 4:55 pm, and a Shiney :White13 heading south caught my eye and I noticed they were waving, and they liked like they were wearing an OzSTOC bike jacket
It was too late for me to wave back, but I did nod. Not sure of it was noticed.
I suspect it was Shiney, as it liked like his riding style/posture.

That was indeed me :grin
I thought it might have been you but I wasn't sure, it's good to hear I still stand out :hatwave
I parked behind these two outside the Oasis hotel in Queenstown. Both had Victorian number plates, one had an Ozstoc sticker on it.

Not actually a ST but I bumped in Skip up at Noosa todayI hope you apologised. :crackup
I was at a wake for Robyn's Uncle at the Noosa Yacht Club
I'm guessing the side car must have a driven wheel otherwise the physics of the placement of the tow ball doesn't seem right.

Good point there Langers. There does appear to be some sort of differential/ final drive under the sidecar, but nothing leading from the ST. Would be keen to know how the drive was taken from the ST if in fact it is a driven wheel.

A nice looking 2000 :bl11 with two up on it on Tuesday & Wednesday (I think - could have been Monday & Tuesday) at Riverbend Caravan Park in Renmark. They were staying in one of the cabins near our site.
They knew of OzSToc and have used the advice section with various issues, but haven't been to any events or formally joined. They were introduced to OzSToc by another member who is in Ulysses.
I've invited them to the next RTE.
I was talking to someone else about groups we were members of and mentioned I was with the ST owners club. His response was "what's an ST?" and just as he said it I heard that distinct sound, turned around and said "that". It was this blue 1100. So I had a chat to them too. They've had it six months and named it Tilly. They hadn't heard of Ozstoc so I gave them a card.

Awesome white 13 headed back from Sandgate, carrying Mr and Mrs Shiney :-)
Well spotted Bodo. After having discovered just how good the Angaston-Swan Reach section of the Stott Highway was after Sunday's RTE, I decided to ride it again with a mate (Blue BMW R1200RT), starting with Greenhill Road from the Glynburn/Greenhill roundabout to Uraidla, Basket Range Rd to Lobethal, Mt Torrens, Mt Pleasant, Cambrai, Sedan, Keyneton, Springton, Williamstown, Kersbrook, Cuddlee Creek, Lenswood, Swamp Rd to Balhannah, Hahndorf, freeway and home. 250kms total and some of the best roads we have in the hills.
Red ST in Loxton 60 seconds ago, no top box.
Spotted a white 1300 at Berrinba at 5:30 this morning.
Chucked a u turn and followed to a Transport depot.
I suspect this to be none other than Dave Shiney.

It may be the same one I saw on Tuesday, and is perhaps not an OzSTOC bike.
Those ...Scanias are they?...Are much harder to identify.
