The sidestand spring on my 2005 st1300 appears to be weak. I have had a number of occasions where it has not retracted all the way home. I saw this generic sidestand spring on Ebay which looked about the same size. Has anyone else had to replace this spring and if so where from?
Here is the Ebay link for the generic sidestand spring.

For $13.43 why don't you try it for all of us?

Could it be as simple as crud in the sidestand pivot? Mine would get sluggish from time to time, and would free up with a clean out with WD40 and a drip of fresh oil.

Yes, I did check for crud. I removed the side-stand and gave it a good clean and lubricated it but occasionally it still stops about half way. The problem is, if I don't check its all the way up it could cause a problem.

Update on Spring.
I rang Peter Stevens and the Genuine Part from Honda is only $11.25. This is cheaper than the generic part on Ebay. They have ordered it from Honda Japan and it will take 4 - 6 weeks. I am in no great hurry so I am happy to wait. John
