Here's a pamphlet for the latest venture by Peter Thoeming (The Bear).  It's a good read.

"Australian Road Rider" is always a good read, and fair value at $8.  Quite a bit cheaper to subscribe and have it posted.  Now it's monthly I am falling behind in reading it.  And they have some nice incentives to renew the sub, like a free book I got one time.

I don't know what this new mag means in that context.   Wot thuh

For the modern man who lives in the city, riding a bike might be one of the only ways to escape the humdrum monotony. To take off and ride. To be both at one with nature and one with the bike. To feel masculine. Adam Piggott

Went and bought a copy of the new mag today.
It's very similar to ARR.  It looks like Peter Thoeming has taken with him a lot of his old writers (e.g. reruns of Lester Morris) and ideas for articles e.g The Geargrinder's Arms".  In response to one letter writer he wishes ARR well.  It's no more than a year ago that ARR gave birth to "Road Rider Cruiser & Trike".  ARR seems to have kept most of the structure it had while PT was there.
Maybe The Bear had a falling out with Universal Magazines.
Whatever, I can't see two almost identical magazines surviving in Australia.  I'm surprised how many advertisers are in both mags.  The newstand price is the same, but ARR is offering 6 issues for $30, posted.

Wish I ha time to read both!   8)
