Got out this arvo for 1st test ride with a trailer and pillion -

It towed beautifully empty right thru to 110kms/hr. The fuel reading normally is 19-22kms/L. With pillion and trailer it dropped to 14.4kms/L. Whilst do some research on how to ride towing one of these things, a few old blokes said just ride your bike as normal and you wont even notice it is there.
Well they were spot on. It took a couple of goes to adjust to giving more revs from standing start, but after that I just rode the bike as normal. I didnt even notice it was there. Next is to get the fridge/freezer and deep cycle battery fitted and practise loading it up to achieve a good balanced trailer. The plates on the trailer say Max towball weight 28kg with tyres at 22psi ( leaf springs)
The only issue I can see is that I cannot see what is following me till they pull out to over take. I might have to look at a rear view mirror thats sits up higher to overcome this. I remember an article about a pommy bloke who came up with a mirror to remove blind spots, so I will do some research to see what I come up with

Thanks for the update and pics mate - you have definitely SCORED there. Glad it's all going well.

Looks like the 2nd National OzSTOC Rally can be held in your yard with those sorts of facilities!

Well done Tony and the Minister.

Mirrors, Hmmmmm. Yeah I fixed a mirror that sits up high on my right side because sometimes I carry a Motorcross sack to work. No way can I see out my mirrors. Trouble is the mirror is that good and easy to view makes me think why they are mounted so low. Cos me $20.00 the pair delived of Ebay.
For the ST1300 me thinks these may solve a problem or two. So klick the link
