Special Tools 101...
« on: February 28, 2014, 09:29:25 AM »
I've been buying one of these each week to build up a collection..... (around $13 average each from Masters)

Great combo spanners - they have a ratchet at the ring end, and the open end has a spring-loaded lever that locks in one direction, and folds in the other direction which means you are not required to remove the spanner and replace it in the next turning possie - i.e. it works a little like the ratchet end in being able to continually tighten/loosen.

Got a great toolbox item that you know we'd love to see?

Post away villains.

Cheers, Diesel

I have a set and I love 'em Only thing I would say is always use a normal spanner to crack the nut because they are not that robust.

Our dumb a..e fitters at work break them with monotonous regularity.

My son gave me this little Sidchrome 1/4" drive set last Christmas. They have been so handy that I carry them all the time. It has rachet, driver handle, extentions, 6 to 14mm sockets, Phillips, flat blade, Allen key, TORX and JIC (for carb screws) bits and socket to hold them. Box is 150x80x45mm and weighs about 1Kg.
