The Wooli rallying timing has allowed me to get get 3 for 1 and do the ride in 4 stages:-
Stage I Perth to Victor Harbor including the Border Run
Two easy 750 km days to the Border over nighting in Norseman. On the first day caught up with Wombat, Yorkie and a couple of other BR riders at Tammin and travelled with them as far as Norsmand. After the BR rode with johnnyYTED for 1,000 kms to Port Augusta.
From Port Augusta dropped in at a mates at Springton then on to Victor Harbor where the wing was parked up for 6 weeks and I flew home.
Stage 2 Victor Harbor to Warragamba via SideCar Rally in O'Connell
Flew back to Victor to pickup the wing and head for Sydney. Mate from Victor rode with me on his Triumph Tiger 800 XCa as far as Coonalpyn. Stopped for lunch with friends from my R66 tour in Horsham before overnighting in Inglewood. Next day caught up with Pete and Lis, also from the R66 tour, they came to the Ballarat Rally and will be at Wooli. Then onto Canberra to overnight with more friends and drop some parts off to Terry.
From Canberra I visited my Grandfathers grave in Wellington before arriving in O'Connell for a sidecar Rally weekend.
A great weekend with some amazing outfits, about 20, a few singles and some interesting characters. The weekend was similar to a lower key OzSTOC Rally. After lunch on the Saturday most of us did a lap of Mt Panorama. Left O'Connell Sunday morning dodging some showers and headed for Springwood to drop off the last of the Bike Quip Screens to wazman and then onto Warragamba to park up the wing before flying home.

Outfits on top of the Mountain

One of the nicest outfits

Stage 3 Warrgamba to Wooli to Sydney
I will fly back to Sydney ride ot Coffs Harbor and pick up Theresa, who flies in on the Friday.
After the Rally Theresa flys home from Coffs and I fly home from Sydney.

Stage 4 Sydney to Perth in November

Got my  :slvr13 serviced three weeks ago and had to order a new windscreen assembly. I sourced it from RonAyers in the states for $700 delivered to my door. It gets fitted tomorrow at the local Honda dealer. It was gunna be $1400 from Mr Honda before fitting - very happy with half price  :thumb
:think1 I couldn't get holidays around this time, so it will be a quick squirt up to Wooli and back over 5 days.
Cheers

have been getting Miss (Darth) Scarlett and Rolling Thunder readied for the trip to NR2017 Wooli and everything...

... and we've changed our plan.

a couple of months ago, Kate picked up a respiratory bug, that in conjugation with the flu and a stomach bug, has been a bit of a battle to knock... a recent blood test confirming that she's just about got it licked... but not enough to convince ourselves that she is up for two weeks of motorbike camping.

... so, a slight change of plan - Miss Scarlett Thunderbolt has been loaded onto our box trailer... camping equipment in RT has been unloaded into the back of the Sportage and RT has been put back into the garage... and we're ready to roll with Plan B.

leaving Mackay on Sunday 15th Oct, to Calliope, then Preston, then Kyogle and a few days in the Coffs Region… inspired by ST2UP, Pockey & Sicman’s recent trip up here, we’re taking a leaf out of their book and staying at Airbnb’s en route… we figure it saves us messing about with our tent each day and saves having to use it until two nights at the NatRally…

after Wooli, we’re spending the rest of our week in the Coffs Region with rellies and friends… we’re planning on returning to Mackay in the same fashion – Wednesday 25th Oct, to Kyogle, then Preston, then Calliope, then Home.

... our route and time away remains the same. Cheers, John & Kate.

hi folks - I'm currently in Yeppoon, and was ready to depart for Bundaberg, then Gymbie, then Esk... as I snake my way down to Wooli.
The forecast for SE Queensland looks absolute shite at the moment... any recommendations?
