To the person who deleted my previous post about Police Wiring

Prior to its deletion I was trying to answer the recent post by Totgas who was asking about relivance.

It seems someone has deleted my post.  The relevance is  only that Brocks diagram was wrongly identifying pin #'s on the 9 pin connector.  This is confusing when someone is trying to check things out and use the switches for other purposes.  If we question why, then we would question why anyone would ever need a wiring diagram.  We need it to work out what wires are doing and how we as individules might modify if so desired.  Thats all I was doing and helping others to be aware of unintended inaccuracies if my wiring was standard and not altered.

Also I fully understand you wanted to remove the original plug and replace it with your own, and thats great.  Others simply want to leave as much as original as possible and purchase the right connector to allow one to just plug it in.  That would be my preference. 

Did I offend someone by asking the question?  Obviously because someone deleted my post and that person would have to have administrater privelidge.

Well I have spent the last hour searching for your thread to no avail.....

When we delete a thread its a long winded process that takes a few stages so it's not even an accidental deletion....

Don't worry to much.  If I offended anyone I would really appreciate the feed back and knowing what was so offensive or inappropriate in my post.  That way I could fix it.  This way I have no idea.

I had only just started to read the post, and left it until later as a bit of detail to sift through, and I was going to check my police wiring against what was suggested to see how it compared.  The last bit I saw seemed to be just putting forward ideas to get some facts straight, which will be very handy for others. I often save such post to my drive for offline reference when it seems complete, so left that one too late..

It wasnt me.

The Mods are the only ones who can delete a post, and only do so for very good reasons. it is very difficult to delete a post accidentally, as there are quite a few cross checks to answer yes to before it can go.

After a few phone calls, txt's, trolling through the a$$ end of the forum through all the little nooks and crannies we all confirmed one thing for sure and certain.......we got not flipping idea where it went 


We think where haunted  Anyone have the number for an exersist that works cheap   


Whenever we delete a post (doesn't apply to jokes section as we do all the time) the moderator sends an explanation PM to the poster to explain the reason and rational....additionally we have a "for the special ppl" Mods only section on the forum not viewable by members where the 5 mods do our secret squirrel stuff and chat and we always make mention of deletions and who's been bad to tell Santa etc.....


So appllogies to those who participated in the thread but it's just vanished....

Guys,  Thanks.  Lets not worry about it. 
Later I might just attach a photo or 2 of the 9 pin connector showing pins and what I believe the pin numbers should be.  Then as long as my photo's are stock as confirmed by others checking their Police wiring then perhaps Brock might update the drawing's pin numbering as typed on the circuit detail. (not the pin out detail.  Pin numbering from top left to bottom right works great)  It would only mean the numbers will not be sequential.  That would sort it.

That would be good. I have been caught out in past by pin numbering where it was not clear which end of the connector was being numbered (ie wire end or connection end view), so I am sure there are other variations.

The pin numbering in my diagram is for that diagram only, just to make it easier to work out the continuity.

This is to verify the pin numbering and its matching the simplified police circuit diagram.  For the sake of this post we will adopt the same configuration as posted on Brock's simplified wiring diagram.  The plug is setup with the locking latch at the top and the pins numbered from Top Left to Bottom Right



The details for the 6 pin plug (5 used) is 100% correct.  So now only focusing on the 9 pin connector above.  Top left is pin 1 and bottom right is pin 9 of the green connector.



We can see the colours.
Pin 1 is Black/Blue Trace
Pin 2 is Light Green
Pin 3 is White/Brown or Gold band
Pin 4 is Purple
Pin 5 is Green (Chassis Ground)
Pin 6 is Orange/Green band.  Hard to see but this next photo confirms as I rotate the connector to the left.



What about the pins 7,8 & 9?
This next photo continues to rotate the connector this time through a further 180.  This is harder to orientate initially but follow it round.



Pin 7 is Red
Pin 8 is Green/Orange stripe
Pin 9 is Blue.



It is my belief that the above should be numbered as follows.
  1  6  8  9  4  5  7  3  2 

I think I have it right now.  If the above numbers were used the drawing would be spot on I believe.

By the time I had finished the drawing, my eyes were spinning on 3 axes

I picked up on it a while back, thought it may have only been my wiring was different so didn't pursue the issue.

Thats how I started the original post.  I was asking Police owners to check if their wiring was like mine or had mine been modified?  I fully expected it was mine.
