G'day folks n Happy New Year :hatwave, the prototype panels currently in development are at the final stages of design. Pics are on the Bike-Quip site and show two options. A plain panel or one with a 1-2mm raised Wings profile.
This Wing is shown in 2 versions, straight edged (like the reflective red/black decals I sell) or a version where the Wing is distorted with a curved (spherical) look to it. All panels will be supplied in Black gloss gel coat (ready to use) or in a white or clear gloss gel coat to aid further customisation/colour matchingafter receipt.
The Wing itself will only be a 1-2mm raised profile so very subtle indeed - I have only changed the colour in the pic for clarity n definition. There will be securing points on the internal face for bungy cord etc so you can carry tyre repair kit/waterproofs n the like (spare fuel maybe?) in the reduced volume. I know they're not to everyone taste but hey, some folks are still buying Harley's! :butt
The main details are on the website n this poll is simply to get a feel for which Wing is preferred or whether you prefer a plain surface.
I will be producing decals for all versions n may well end up offering both plain panels AND 1 of the Wings versions if there's enough demand.
Even if you don't intend to buy, I would still appreciate yer feedback!
There's a poll on the Facebook page too so you don't need to do both!
Thanks for lookin n taking time out to respond! :clap. Poll will run for 5 days
Cheers, Ride Safe!

Already replied, so I won't do the survey again. This looks to be a great product, which fits nicely with the lines and appearance of the bike.

Would a low "wall" on the wheel side be practical to secure items in a "well" rather than depend solely on a bungy? The thought of a tensioned bungy next to a wheel revolving at high speed doesn't do my head any good.

Hi Biggles,
I do take your point and I had thought of that but the potential advantage of a 'wall' would subsequently mean a restriction in the width of storage of anything which was a few mm wider. Plus it could also hold more 'run off' rain water road dirt etc. than desired. Then there's always the extra weight to consider too.
There will be a small lip around the whole panel which you 'could' use to fasten your own 'wall' to?
The bungy net could well be a string net with bungy cords attached around the edges?

Sorry Steve,
Just voted not interested as I loved the original Bike Quip Design

I personally don't ride without Panniers, as I don't like the lQQk of the ST's without them :eek . I voted but not really interested.
are you doing an ST1100 version? I have both ST1100 and ST1300
keep up the good work though. :thumbsup

Same here I don't like the look of the ST1300 without panniers
But will look if you come up with something :popcorn
