I had a similar dilemma with Hi HO Silver, the old 2003  :slvr13
It only came with 1 ignition key which i would snap on a regular basis because the first cut was VERY deep.
I would bump it oh so lightly when the key was in the barrels to unlock the panniers,pie warmer or when removing the seat and snap the  :cuss er clean off.It happened 4 times.
It was cheaper to swap the chip over than get a spare one programmed from scratch.
The last time i visited the local smithy he had a brand spanking new yammy 1200 Tenere in the shop that the dealer had lost all keys for.Any profit and then some from the future sale of that bike were eaten up in the cost of making new keys  :-[
