<< < (5/8) > >>

West Aussie Glen:
I had coffee with Lindsay yesterday at the Sticks Coffee Shop that is on the ground floor of the building where he lives.
He is going well.
Visitors welcome. Coffee shop open 9:30 to 1:30 Monday to Friday.
Suggest you ring the day before to organize a time.
If you don't have his phone number pm Lindsay or ring or pm me.
Lindsay and May moved to the Rossmoyne Waters a few years ago.
The details here are a little out of date:- https://www.google.com.au/maps/@-32.0452203,115.866596,17z ,
Easy to get to but parking may be a problem as they are just starting new building program.
There is 2 hour parking on Bull Creek Road in front of the admin building. From Bull Creek Rd you walk down Freeman Drive and almost directly into Sticks Cafe.

LindsayGT:
Just dropping in for an update. :)

I continue to enjoy improvement to my health and strength.

Recently, I received permission to work on regaining my driving. This is because I need to use my left leg for foot control. Last Friday I was given an initial driving assessment of by a specialist OT. I must have done ok because today I received a text indicating that I could book more driving sessions, leading up to a final assessment.

I also, with a number of family members, attended the WA Supreme Court, to witness the sentencing of the perpetrator. I may post a link to the transcript later on when it becomes available.

The perpetrator pleaded guilty to a large number of charges, the main 2 being the manslaughter of Ken and GBH to me.

The outcome was 11 years, with the possibility of parole after 9 years. Also disqualified from driving for 2.75 years.

Nothing will bring Ken back or my leg back. It does bring some closure to this aspect of the journey.

I cannot express how grateful I am for the support I've received from all you guys. You are all amazing people and so supportive of me.

I'll hopefully see you soon, on a ride (drive) :)

Bodø:
Good to hear you're on the mend and can get behind a wheel.  Thanks for keeping us updated.

ruSTynutz:
That's really good to hear, Lindsay...and great that you get some closure.  :thumbs

I was actually having a re-read of this thread last night and was wondering how you were going so it was a bit of a "surprise" when I found your latest update this morning!  :beer

CallMeSteve:
Thanks for the update Lindsay.  Great to see that you are moving forware on your journey.  It must be great to get back behind the wheel.

You are an inspiration to me, and likely to many others.

Judging from the imposed sentence it sounds like there was a lot more going on in the other vehicle than just innocently losing control of his rig.  It must be good to put that part of the process behind you.

All the best,
Steve
