I suspect the hexamine tablet might slowly vaporise, losing its flammability, even though it might be sealed.  That's the only explanation I can come up with.

The first thing I pack on any ride these days is a camera of some sort, be it an in phone camera or a separate camera. Why? Just in case I am involved in some sort of incident/accident and I want photographic evidence of damage to my vehicle, damage to other vehicle, road conditions, photo's of anything that might support my stance in future proceedings of any nature. Don't under estimate the importance of obtaining timely evidence.

Not being negative, just saying be prepared.

Bottle/can/cork screw tool. Can be used for many other things.  Multitool might do all of this.  A roll of racing tape can fix up things that might break (eg roo strike or dropping the bike).  Spare flexible straps as you can fix things, use for camping or help someone who has to attach things to their bike after a misshap.  A roll of toilet paper is handy for all sorts of uses, such as visor cleaning and for when supplies run out at roadside stops.  Cable ties etc have alreday been mentioned.

I like to travel with my "loo kit". It is a zip-lock bag with a butt - roll (as in a part roll - smaller than a full roll) of soft toilet paper, a folding shovel (which doubles as a small mattock) and a small bottle of sanitizing goo. Has served me well for many years. I think I got the shovel from a camping store.

Easy!    Clothes, toiletries, torches, chargers etc, first aid, spare gloves and waterproofs in left pannier.   Tent & spare shoes in right pannier, self inflator and sleeping bag and kermit chair across the back seat in a waterproof roll top bag.    Maps, food, cooker, water and "other stuff" in the top box.   Like most of us, my packing has been refined and reduced over a few long trips.   It all fits easily and there's plenty of room to spare

To easy  I fit all my essential ladies products in for a 2 week trip  off course Chris has to wear the same set of cloths for the entire trip

Touring two up, I get one pannier and Chris gets the other one, and we usually stay in cheap hard accommodation.   Top box is for general stuff, drinking water, lunch and a compact cooker for a cuppa on the road.

But adverse reaction to opioids easily fixed  but your absolutely correct.....all that is very nice to know info

I carry an EPIRB in my 4x4 so on a long trip it will be on my bike, set this bad boy off and you will get help in quick time

Having just completed my return trip to Perth, one of the best bits of equipment I had with me was the little throttle clamp (poor man's cruise control). It took a little of trial and error to get used to the right tightness, but once attained was fantastic at giving my wrist a break long enough to avoid any stops or just letting the throttle go.
