ST 13 rear shock

Well the Honda technician picked up a leak in the rear shock last service.
Looks like i am going to need to part with some hard earned dosh. Saw this post -

Boy oh Boy - shocks for bikes are sooo expensive compared to a car or a new bike for that matter!!! Ohlins $1500 for one shock and spring, no way, i am on some sort of budget! OK that is my rant....

The eBay price is a bargain for that one.

US Price on Company website is $US745 and then you have to add postage.

By the way "Progressive" is the company name not the type of spring so you'll get a standard spring but it's still far better than the OEM progressive sprung shock on my 1100.

They're also set to the standard ride height at the factory which means it's almost like "plug in and play"  with only minor adjustments to suit the rider.

Thanks for that advice, I checked with Honda Hobart and they quoted refurbishing it for $400 to (+$50 postage, plus $150 to pull out and put in again). So $600 for one shock... Shocking in my view!!! I had chased around second hand ones, not many around, but you are still taking your chances with how many kays you can get from a second hand one, will it last, how many kays on it?!?
So i ended up buying new, via ebay, from the USA. Two weeks to get here. A tad over A$700. I will try to install myself. May seek advice or guidance if I get stuck.

There's a thread on doing the job.  I'll let you find it, since I don't need it.  It includes a handy rope trick.  You'll see what I mean.
