Like Gavo, I looked on the forum as a guest to get a feel for the group. I found the submissions very informative and decided to check out a RTE. Just wished family commitments allowed me to go on more outings.

I was half heartedly in the Yahoo group which I visited a few times.

One day back in late 2011 Ozstoc came up in a search on Facebook, made an enquiry to find out if it was the same as the Yahoo group and it was that group reborn so I joined up.

Life hasn't been the same since.

I was looking for some tyre advice way back when it was still the old Yahoo site. Searched for ST Forum and "Bingo". Signed up on the old Yahoo site then again when we went to the current format. Great to be part of such a fantastic group. And my first RTE..... that "Skippy" event. Doh.

Found it via a Google search using ST1300 as the search criteria just after I purchased the wonderful ST, emailed Streak and haven't looked back since. Great group of wonderfully chatty people with loads of experience and a bunch of great rides!!!

Yep.  "Me too"   :grin

I was on the Yahoo Group and there was this guy called Dave Gribble who knew everything.   :p

I missed the first RTE that had the four founding members on it, but was on the second one which was almost obliterated by blue smoke.

Did you ever hear the story about the bloke who blamed BP's bowser colour for his putting Diesel in his lovely ST1300?   :popcorn      :rofl
For the modern man who lives in the city, riding a bike might be one of the only ways to escape the humdrum monotony. To take off and ride. To be both at one with nature and one with the bike. To feel masculine. Adam Piggott

Word of mouth for me. Was talking with Tony after he bought his bike. He mentioned the club and forum. Had a look online and joined as a non riding member. Now have the bike and the rest is history.  :thumbs

I joined because of peer pressure  :nahnah but I love the friendly banter and information, it's wonderful that Chris and I have found another past time we both love and can enjoy together, Ozstoc is the icing on the cake.

And I get the chance to wade into this boys domain and stir the pot  :Whipped  :rofl

I was on the yahoo group and just kept on gravitating across to the new setups (so which option should I vote for?).  As the yahoo group was a bit limiting for discussion and distributing information (still learnt a lot that was more specific to Australia, and met many people I still keep in contact with), I was active on my-mc, st-owners and st-riders (and still check in every now and again)

I found OzSTOC when it was still the old yahoo group via the American ST Owners website, some fellow called diesel told me about it on the forum there and well the rest is history....

I'd decided I needed a bike for a zillion different uses but mainly touring. The net was awash with a million different sites claiming how amazing each bike was but with very little substance, generally.
Once I'd narrowed down the field it was really the quality and depth of the Forums and information available about ST's that swayed my opinion.
Since I bought the ST Ive used the forums whenever I need info about ANYTHING to do with the bike.
I found OZSTOC to be the kind of forum that you want your local pub to be like - Full of friendly people who are never short of a good yarn and are willing to help each other at the drop of a hat.
keep up the good work.

around 9 years ago I bought a st1100 but it was a bit worst for wear. whilst rebuilding I needed some advise so I found the American site which lead to the orig OzSToc. all of a sudden I couldn't find it so I carried on looking around then as sudden as the drop the new site was found and it just keeps going on from there  :thumbs
