It is very windy and down to 6 degrees, so not the best conditions for making it home.

Short way home then, which in this weather I can understand. Less than 3 hours away.

Cowra-Canberra is a relative doddle, but the weather is not very friendly. It was nice and sunny, with a great hamburger at the Rose garden Cafe when I came through last weekend.

I hate being at home watching rather than doing  :think1 Reminds me of crewing for a mate doing rallies. Sitting in the dark for hours, something happens, then sit around not knowing what is going on until the end.

Around there is usually not too bad (so I hear, 120 plus is quite safe at night if you are keen to make time...) but the road will be wet, reflections and the animals may be out. Tiredness also.

I will see if Lionel wants to leave tomorrow to go to Coffs for the Ozstoc 1600  :rofl  otherwise we might leave it until Thursday, but it is a nearly 800km ride to Coffs.  A rest day when we get there though..

Pretty safe to say that after the last 3 days, he won't be out of bed at 7 am in the morning?

After my first trip back form Port Hedland I never even got back on the bike for a week and that was only to refuel her for the return trip the next day. But I actually miss those trips I made every 6 months or so.

Nearly at Yass and home sailing! That bit of the Boorowa road is ok usually but at night, wet and tired needs some care.  An hour away normally but if a stop is needed it should be taken. I will just play loud music or put on a music video  o:)

60 to Lionel's place, 40 to mine. He should be halfway here based on that spot time.

off for extra distance the safe way, towards Goulburn then back from there. Adds about 160kms. He may even go further up the highway to get a turn docket.

Must be trying for 1600k for the day?

or so tired he's missed another turn like up at Nevertire.      :grin

Or he's making dam sure of getting the 4800 km minimum (3000 miles) by going a little further or 1600 a day

That was not even the original aim, but must be some other target to hit in some time period, not just 24 hours. Corner dockets could be at Goulburn, Marulan, Sutton Forrest - just depends on how far.

Goulburn turn docket then home for the finish. So another 45 minutes or so if you want to see the end.  I am not doing final witnessing so am off to bed to practice getting up before 2am.

Years of afternoon shift for me meant 2am (2:30 for you) for going to bed and it still is that time for me. Once Heather goes to bed, the head phones go on and the music goes on or I watch a DVD.

Heather says Hi as well.....a little chilly waiting for him last night but happy that she can brag about seeing her first IBA rider on the move

He's just past the Manuka Oval.
That would be pretty special- riding through the heart of Canberra after days through the heart of Oz!

Plenty of laurels to rest on there!
Congratulations on achieving your aim, Lionel.
We'll hear from you on Wednesday, much later, no doubt.

Guess I better mosey outside and put the rubbish bins out... garbo will be here in less than 5 hours.

I'll just go have a shower, come back, turn the headphones up and play a game or two for the next couple hours,
