Too much free play in clutch
« on: June 15, 2021, 06:38:01 PM »
I've had my bike in storage for 8 months. After moving house, I decided to change the clutch fluid. Vacuum bled on 3 different occasions as well as a manual bleed. Still having problems; if I take the bike for a 20 minute ride the clutch is all good to start with but after awhile I can pull the lever almost to the handle bar before I get clutch. Can then leave it sit for 20 minutes and the clutch is all good again. I have no fluid leaks anywhere, I don't believe there's any air trapped in it and when it does play up, if I turn the bike off and listen while pulling clutch in, I have no resistance on clutch lever up until 5 to 8mm from handle bar. I can also hear slave cylinder working, sounds like a clunk as if it's pushing against nothing until it hits push rod. It's almost as if the clutch is stuck open but its not slipping, it shouldn't be as there's only 30,000km on the bike from brand new. It's screwing with my head! Any assistance would be most appreciated. Cheers.

It sounds like there is still air trapped in the system, it can be a bugger to get out some times.
