Bike Covers - Which one
« on: August 08, 2013, 08:37:32 AM »
This topic is for ANY bike you have.

Just add if you have a wider/taller screen, wind deflectors, different top box etc, this will assist anyone looking for a new cover.

What type of cover (1/2, 3/4 or full)?

Waterproof, dust proof, UV etc?

Compact in size?

Purchased from?

Approx. cost?

Would buy the some cover again?

Just add any details that you think is relevant.

 :dred11

I have a 3/4 cover (size XL) on my 1100 with a taller/wider (Screens for bikes) screen and it fits great and would buy one again, compact for stowage. approx $20.00.

I have the bulky Supercheap cover for home in the shed......but Tony put me onto a 3/4 Ebay cover for $20.....very snug fit, but effective for a travel cover....packs compact and flat back into its bag with easy.

Tony will post the link when he see's this.......

I've got an RJAYS, which readily covers the top box and the taller BikeQuip screen, but I can't find the tag which gives the size.

I bought an RJays large size fits ST and Goldie, probably same as Stinky pete's, fleecy inner and quite durable.
About $45.00 or $50.00 I think.

It would John, think the real make or break difference would be the screen height of the 1100 as apossed to the seductive and sleek lines of the 1300 with the screen down  :popcorn.......why do you need a bike cover anyway ???? then it would have NO chance of a wash  :nahnah

I may have gone to the extreme, but as my ST13 lives outside, I wanted a waterproof flock lined cover that would do the job and not scratch the paint and ended up with an extra large from RJAYS for $69.95 (same as StinkyPete's and JimWilly)
but it does what I wanted + with the screen fully raised as well:

Seems RJays for at home and the light 3/4 cover for RTE's, overnighters etc.

Thanks all for your input.

Karma Brock, I'm going to buy a RJays now.

Cheers

Abe you say you have the XL on the 1100, do you think this size will fit the 1300 with the top box and windshield, or should I order a larger one?

It does cover SOME of the bike (screen and top box, down to front guard)

But not the panniers as I have an aerial.

I did use one on the recent trip to the Rally and it worked well for the price

This one fits my 1300 with top box perfectly. Also fits 1100 as BillSteff has one and he recommended.
Need XL size. Handy slot for disc lock. Central clip is awkward to attach tho. Available online.
Approx $50 + delivery. Not cheap but good quality.

I have a full cover for home in the garage, doesn't get used much when the ST is actually going. For travelling I use an army hutchee because they are waterproff and roll up to almost nothing. They can also be stretched quite tight to provide better protection.

Another for the RJays. Had one for the last 10 years, good as the day I bought it. Fully covers the screen and topbox and has ties for windy conditions.

I have this one coming. Supposed to fit a Goldwing so it should be ok on the 1100. A cover is not something I usually worry about as it means I need to take it off before I can ride the bike. It'll be more like Heather putting it on and me taking it off.
