I usually wear long leg undies while riding, either the Tradies brand, or LDComfort. This means I get less skin irritation from Kevlar on skin, and my boy bits are comfortable. I was wondering if anyone has experience with the "Step One" bamboo fibre undies that are getting a flogging on telly as riding underwear?
I have a coupla pair of thermal Long Johns, one pair polypropylene, the other Merino wool, can't say that I've noticed much differnence between either pair, but certainly more comfortable and noticable on cold days.
Under them I wear either Bond cotton boxers or Aldi bamboo boxers, can't say there's much difference. I graduated to boxers, from jockey briefs, a few years back after 'breaking-in' a new pair of Daggin Jeans on a SEQ trip, and getting some considerable chaffing
down there, had to purchase a pair of silk boxers - well that's the story I told Helen.
Can't say that I've noticed the difference in drying time for the cotton or bamboo undies, but I have noticed that the bamboo socks take longer to dry. This may be a factor to be taken into account when touring.
Now the "Step One" bamboo fibre undies, at around $30 a pair, they'd wanna be pretty damn comfy. Over to others for some informed comment.
