+1 with Tipsy.

After the March crash and the neck injury my neck doesn't swivel quite so well. I just removed the wireless reverse cam from a car so am wondering whether it could be handy. Wouldn't be reliant on it but, you never know!

I've got a few farkles on the gold one now and added another one on Saturday. Fitted a GoPro video camera. The missus is doing a PhD and required video footage of rides so I was compelled to do it :wink1. The camera joins my other farkles (some of which were on the bike when I got it):
- MC cruise control
- Bagster tank cover and quick release leather tank bag
- Strike BT GPS
- MCL highway blades
- LED spotlights
- Airhawk
- Wooly fleece sheepskin seat cover
- Steelmate alarm system
- Classic tow hitch
- Single seat conversion
- Handlebar risers
- Tall tinted windscreen
- Staintune mufflers
- Bag rack and large capacity RJays touring bag

Got a few other things I want to do the next one of which is hazard lights.

Well I finally took the plung and odered a set of Delkevic exhausts from the USA and fitted them today. Had some concerns about the distance they had to come from but all went well and they arrived about 10days after I ordered them packaged very well.
Now I am not what you would call handy in terms of working on the beast , but I have to say it took me all of an hour and I had the old pipes off and the new ones on. Could not wait to take it out ,and what a difference. While cruising along its just a gentle rumble , not annoying at all , but give it a hand full and the tin tops sure know you are there.
Now the big boy sounds like it looks and performs and im sure it will add to the pleasure of riding .
I have also booked in to have the seat re designed by John Moorhouse next week.

Hi Rob,
The Delkevics are an awesome exhaust :thumb I hope you love them as much as I do mine :grin (you should post some pics :wink1)

Now as I’ve been thinking about getting my seat modified by John Moorhouse for a while I have a couple of questions for you:

How much is it to get the seat modified?
How long will it take him?
And finally, when you get it back can you post some pics and a review please?

Cheers

Sound and weight for the most part :grin :runyay

With the improved sound the cagers notice the bike more :thumb
And the Delkevics weigh about 20 times less then the original exhaust :eek

And did I mention they sound AWESOME :grin

They are louder but to varying degrees by leaving in or taking out the removable baffles (held in with a screw).

They give the bike a bit of a rumble instead of just the standard whine from the engine and (as Rob has discovered) they aren’t obnoxious or annoying like a Harley or the high pitched sportsbike exhausts.

While cruising along its just a gentle rumble , not annoying at all , but give it a hand full and the tin tops sure know you are there.
Rob

Yes it can be loud, when you get up in the revs it gets exponentially louder.
Hope this helps :thumb

I found when fitting the Staintunes to my 1100 that I gained a bit more 'go' in the 3-4,000 rpm range, which is just at the right spot for over taking. The 'rumble' from them is only mildly louder than the originals and does not get intrusive on long trips. Haven't noticed any change in fuel consumption, and definatly lighter (probably 2Kg each). The increase in power is the best benefit.

Guys , as Shiney said , the difference in weight between the Delkevic and the standard pipes is astonishing and must impact on performance. In terms of the noise factor I am really happy with the change , while touring along its just a gentle rumble , but give it a hand full such as overtaking or going down in gears and it really sounds like a motor bike should sound . I also love the way the Kevlar pipes look .
Shiney, to answer your questions in relation to the John Moorhouse seats , I have booked my seat in with John ( he is quiet busy , 2 weeks wait to take the seat to him) and he has quoted me $180 to re shape to fit my bum , and he will need the seat to be dropped off on the Monday and should be ready on the Friday.
He has asked me to bring along a photo of me riding the bike to get a better idea of the shape needed. When done I will be happy to report back on the success or lack off.

Long term outlook of add ons/farkles to go on the beaST:

Throttle lock (until I can afford Cruise Control, then CC for sure  :grin)
Heated grips
Highway blades
Passenger foot peg lowering brackets
Power outlets
Ram balls (for iPhone holder and other stuff)
Grip covers
Bagster tank cover (just have to find one for my bike/right colour, & have the money :wink1 )
John Moorehouse Seats
Handlebar riser
And that's all I can think of for now :eek

Well my list of farkles has gotten shorter over the last 4 months :grin
I now have a blue Bagster tank cover (Thanks to Couch, your a legend mate :-++)
And have installed power outlets and a NEP throttle lock :thumb
Next will be the ram ball iPhone mount then Highway blades :runyay

Well the list is getting shorter and shorter :eek :thumbsup
Since last post I have added the Highway blades, Ram ball mount and xgrip (to hold my iPhone or gps ect.) and Grip covers (haven’t installed them yet)

Cheers
Shiney

The list is almost finished now :grin with the latest update of a handlebar Riser (thanks to Beema2ST :thumb)
