STs in front of Strange Letterboxes...
« on: January 06, 2013, 02:02:17 PM »
New game folks...

Post a pic of your ST in front of one of those funky/austentacious letterboxes that we all see on our travels and post it here. Bike MUST be in pic. Don't forget to name the town/location/state for us.

I'll kick off...

5 clicks West of Kilcoy, Qld....

I think it's rubbish for the council's roadside pickup. It was sure nice of them to put it on a pole so the city cleansers won't hurt their backs bending over so far.    :grin

Seen this morning on way to RTE.  On the flat section just west of Mount Glorious:

Saw this one on Flagstone Creek Road, near toowoomba.

we have seen the microwave before, but i got good value out of this one as the owner wandered down to see what the strange man on a motorcycle was up to, and we ended up having a chat, as his postie has asked him for a new letter box as he has trouble opening it while on the postie bike, so we ended up discussing good simple, but different looking letter boxes that he could use!

He stated that he was not having any Milk Cans, Chain Links welded together, or windmills, was quite a funny conversation, as he was most interested in why we took photos of letter boxes!

Now it is not my ST in front of this one, but my ST Pillion.   We spotted this "letterbox" at the front gate to Mt Ive Station in the middle of Eyre Peninsula on a recent trip.  Clearly there are people about with too much time on their hands.   Mt Ive Station hosts the Dry Lake Racers Australia for their Speedweek in March each year.  See  http://www.dlra.org.au/

Stagger me!!  That's huge!  (And very clever).  Where do they put the letters?

(BTW, you'd better get your pillion some stronger riding boots for Christmas).

We were exploring the Gawler Ranges in the 4WD, and the ST was tucked away back home.    Anyway, what's wrong with those boots?  I've seen plenty of people wearing them on bikes?
