Philips X-treme Vision Moto H4 Bulbs
« on: March 10, 2022, 10:40:08 AM »

Just thought I'd do a quick heads up for these bulbs which will suit the ST1300 & I believe, the ST1100 (with the usual mod needed to make H4 bulbs fit)

https://www.powerbulbs.com/au/product/philips-x-treme-vision-moto-h4-single

25% off using the code PHILIPS25....which brings the price down to $30.49 for 2 bulbs and includes free shipping.  :runyay

This sale finishes today (10/03/2022) so you'll have to be quick!

*I have no affiliation with this company but have bought heaps of bulbs from them over the years because it's actually a lot cheaper to buy bulbs from the UK than it is to buy them in Australia.  :||||

Does a different brand of globe at the same wattage actually make much difference?

I have only recently started riding mine at night (after it became much more stable and forgiving on the dirt section after the rear tyre change) and find that the headlights are almost as good as my car as they are. Not that I know what globes are in there anyway.

I would consider driving lights, but that is a whole other thread...

Curious about your tyre choice

They do vary a bit by brand but regardless of the brand you can definitely get a better light from the same wattage but...there's a trade off, they don't last as long.

I've replaced the headlight bulbs in both our cars and you can definitely notice the difference over the stock bulbs!

You can get brighter than these particular bulbs but I've found these are a good compromise between brightness & longevity...

Curious about your tyre choice

I went Darkside, with a 195/45-17 Bridgestone Dayton DT30.
Very happy with it.
