Mrs Biggles is flying down to Newcastle where I'll pick her up on my way to Mudgee.  She's getting "beyond" longish days in the saddle.
For the modern man who lives in the city, riding a bike might be one of the only ways to escape the humdrum monotony. To take off and ride. To be both at one with nature and one with the bike. To feel masculine. Adam Piggott

Looks like Ruth and I will doing another tintop trip. Ruth has just been diagnosed as a type-1 diabetic and has started on the fine art of injecting herself with insulin. Her doctor felt that a long bike trip in the early days of getting used to it would not be a smart idea.  I thought about getting a new doctor! But he is actually rather good, so we will pander to his request this time.

I think I’m feeling the same as Mrs B, had a hard day in the garage changing wheels n tyres with a extremely sore back, finding it very hard to bend over and get back up again - tools are hidden all over due to a very disorganised decluttering attempt!

Is there going to be a list of events issued for the Rally,
Eg; Where the Friday night Meet and Greet will be
Where the Saturday night Dinner will be, what time and how we are getting there
Are there Rides arranged for Saturday and Sunday, what places there are to meet for lunch and Breakfast

Regards
PhilS

A few of us have aged considerably today…..

Here is the go for full transparency, Rally Shirts haven’t arrived to me at this stage and it’s a slim chance they will in time for us to leave as planned on Thursday morning.

The courier was selected by the vendor based on their Sender to Receiver (Toowoomba QLD to Guyra NSW) of 5 working days per their website search.

So here is the guts of it, the shirts were purchased and printed at our usual supplier and rally sponsor in Toowoomba QLD. They were packaged and checked into the couriers depot on the 28th of September in Toowoomba per tracking information now available. The carton didn’t leave Toowoomba until 3rd October. Six days later  :||||

The carton was forwarded to their Depot in Brisbane….delivery date to Guyra was advised by tracking to be Wends the 5th, but no show, then updated to Friday the 7th with no show and a call to the company ensued ……now updated and confirmed by their tracking as Monday the 9th for arrival.

You guest it nothing….so this morning the calls, logging of complaints commenced and escalated to the courier companies call centre that’s not on this continent I would suggest. All this happening from the Sender and the Receiver end……it was getting really ugly with this company that may start with an A and may or may not end with an X……

All we wanted was the location of the carton right now and we will collect. We established early in the day that the shirts were in their warehouse in Brisbane since the 3rd of October and had not been processed further.

A quick SOS on the forum gave us two plans….1. PC would drive Warwick to Briz and collect and I would jump in the Ute and head for Warwick. Plan 2 was Phil S who was in Brisbane and would collect and leaving tomorrow driving past my place 6 hours later……easy, we had a solid plan.

Now it really went Tits up !!! The company wouldn’t divulge where the carton was, wouldn’t allow pickup for privacy/security reasons and would not refer us to supervisors/managers to call us back, just the same scripted , “we have logged your concern and you will be contacted in due course”……the call, email never came.

The parcel was processed to an undisclosed region partner carrier late this afternoon….with no tracking available.

So the plan…..if it arrives tomorrow (extremely unlikely) plans all good, but we only get parcel deliveries Mon/Wend/Friday to our small town so won’t be Thursday……if it’s Friday (most likely) it’s about 4:30 in the afternoon.

So will hit the car and be in Mudgee by about 10pm and set up camp, and make up rally packs early Saturday morning for distribution.

If they don’t arrive Friday…….we’ll were fooked with a big stick !! and I’ll worry about it then.

Positive thoughts please….. :-++

All good mate. Can a posse of us ride into town and pillage it into extinction as a warning to other suppliers not to mess with this particular bikie gang?

My day is done in Penrith.
Stopped in at Grey Gums on the Putty but the Cafe was shut.

Managed to check into the hotel at 10:30am. Might have a nap, pop next door to the Penrith Panthers then go check out a local Brewery.
