Members with parts and tools
« on: June 03, 2012, 12:39:20 PM »
Just thinking aloud, but it might be good to have a sticky here that is edited that list what members have various tools and parts for STs in various areas.

For example, I have many tools and parts such as a full shim kit, and most times have new tyres in ST sizes hanging on the wall, along with a tyre changer.  Also lots of oils, oil filters, spare rear shock etc.  And garage space to do work (well, once I move the car out).  I know that in various areas riders let it known they can help out, but this would be more for newcomers just to show what we can offer as a group.

I try to keep the consumables to hand as they can take a while to get here.... at the moment just brake pads, air filters and fork seals but I'll add to that some wheel bearings and spark plugs (can anyone think of anything else??).

Oil + filter are available from the car shops which are open 7 days, so I don't bother to keep these 'in stock'.

Jake Wilson has done very well out of me recently as I have a stash of tyres - I anticipated wearing a few out but have had a slight change of plan, at the moment anyway - but they'll all be used soon enough.  I change my own tyres, just need to make a basic frame and I'm good.

As for tools, I have just the basics at the moment, enough to do the basic jobs.  I'll add to my toolkit as the needs arise.  I have an air compressor to make tyre mounting easier.

Workshop is the garage - double garage with increasingly more crap in it!

Have tools and a fair bit of knowledge. Have mig, tig, oxy, stick and plasma cutter, plus lathe, drill press, 10ton hydraulic press, compressor, sheetmetal shears, folder and roller. Other bits too small to mention until someone needs them. Am home most days if someone calling past needs help.

Workshop space
A large assortment of tools , welders etc
But most importantly there is the,
Beer tasteing apparatus in the recretational patio area
Unfortunatly I am away off in the country Western Aus. so it will be difficult for anyone to get here.
But if you do , you will all be made welcome.

Everyone clicks on Adam's link to find out where all that hospitality is...   :beer

Sunbury.  Hmmm.  FarRide   :wink1  Cold one!
For the modern man who lives in the city, riding a bike might be one of the only ways to escape the humdrum monotony. To take off and ride. To be both at one with nature and one with the bike. To feel masculine. Adam Piggott

I better fill the fridge up. Greencan who lives over the side fence has 10 gallons of nice Port, when my fridge is empty, we can go and empty his fridge and his barrel of Port :thumbs :hatwave :rofl
