What do you have to register for.

I have permission to go from the little lady and I will be on annual leave, didn't think I needed any more approval to go for a long ride.

I think the tank is full and I know my battery is fully charged.

Naw, not that clever.

Whilst returning home from Ballarat, Battery died after 6 years so I had to have a push start in the mornings until I got a new battery.

Bike has been sitting in the shed since then on the Ctek charger and I know I filled the tank when I got home 3+ months ago.

Shouldn't need a push start any more, it's all down hill from here.

Hope you have better luck than last year Malcolm.
My thoughts are fuel at Southern Cross just after midday, o/night at Balladonia, leave around 5am and check in at midday, 1072k.
O/night at B/V or Eucla, lazy 700k to Norseman, o/night and then a lazy 700k home on Monday.

We have a significant event on at home that weekend, so BR2014  is out for me.   It's a blow, as I was keen to do it as a FR1200, as part of my prep for our OzSTOC 1600k.   :'(

I have booked a backpacker room at Balladonia for Friday night $50 and Saturday night at Eucla Motel $50
On all my Border Runs I stay at Eucla and the fuel is cheaper I just ride back from the meet later in the night to get my sleep and then first light Sunday home time
So no south coast for the turtle this year the Handbrake said home by Sunday night  :well
Might meet you at Southern Cross Yorkie and whoever else plan closer to the date on this

I have booked the queen bed at Balladonia, nothing at Eucla/Border at this stage, motel sounds like it could be the go.

Let me know if you want to meet at the Cross, I can wait.

I started looking at distances and times today. Still unsure of doing it as a SS1600 or not.

I have booked one of the newer cabins out the back at Border village, so may be a spare bunk or two for Saturday night.  I plan on getting in Friday and lounge around for the day.  I may keep on going west afterwards and do some of southern WA for a few days then head back, as a few things happening towards the end of August.

I will aim to sit around out the front at Border Village to repel welcome the WA contingent   :grin

I have to go 2400kms the short way, you only have a day ride of 1400kms or so with not much choice   :beer

It's even shorter for me at just under 1100kms and though we'd love to attend we are unable to make it this year. I have some unplanned repairs to do on the car before I can commit to anything else.

If anyone is there on the Friday, look out for a blue streak. Stopping for photos only.

Riding from Armadale to  Norseman to Nullabor and stopping at Eucla for a sleep, then home..

I'll give the westies a wave as I go past.

Sounds as though you are doing a 1600 Malcolm, you could do Norseman - Salmon Gums  for the xtra as Pezzz is going to do rather than Nullabor.

Not a SS1600, more like a BumBurner.

There won't be much time on two legs in 48 hours, shall we say.
