I've made an unhappy decision
« on: May 16, 2024, 08:07:56 PM »
It's been a difficult time, but have made the decision to sell my ST1300 as I have lost too much riding confidence, and have found the older I get the heavier the bike has become.
And arthritis hasn't helped either.

That is a nice looking bike, and it is a shame you can't enjoy it any more.

Where did the highway pegs come from, or they home made?

That was a consideration but I still would have had to negotiate city traffic. While I can ride ok on the open road, I would have had to watch the other 5 drivers - ones on either side, front and back, AND the idiot playing on their phone or day dreaming coming towards me 😱

Yep, made by a mate as I couldn’t afford MCL types

Good solid bike fully farkled at a fair price for its age and kms.  Hope someone appreciates all that and snaps it up.  Serious graze on top box, but I've had one fixed and repainted for $150.  No doubt more than that now.
For the modern man who lives in the city, riding a bike might be one of the only ways to escape the humdrum monotony. To take off and ride. To be both at one with nature and one with the bike. To feel masculine. Adam Piggott

Thanks for the kind appraisal Bill. In regards to the scratch, I'd approached several professionals - match n' scratch businesses, who seemed to want to either shunt me off to someone else or quote an unrealistic amount, to the point I decided I'd leave it as it is.

Yes, a nice, overall tidy unit (apart from the top box scrape), reasonably priced (although that's subjective).  Good luck with the sale.

To me, it seems that it's a buyers' market out there (rather than sellers').  I've had one of my ST1300's (2011, 58,000km) on the market for a coupla months now.  Many, many 'phone calls, messages and inspections, but the these stats don't really count, the only one that does is the sold stat, and I only want one of those.

Price has gone from $11,000 to $8,500, I'll take it off the market for a while.
Cheers,  Williamson (AKA Michael)
