Hi All,
My name is Dallas and live in Canberra. Nice site and I hope to meet for a ride soon.
My current bikes are an 08 Hayabusa and a Vespa GTS300, retired in Sept so am always up for a ride.
Looking for a nice ST . Spotted a Silver 03 St at Western Motorcycles in Penrith , has 21K and they want $11K , which I think is pretty good value.
Anyone know this bike or know of something else for sale.
Cheers
Dal

I deduce you're looking for an ST1300, since you cite a silver '03.
John Meara on this forum had one, and can tell you about them- he put a lot of kays on his.
The price is fair if it's in top nick. The kays are very low for its age. I've got an '09 with over 18 thou.
Ultimately, if it looks good, no leaks, everything electrical working, starts straight away, no odd noises, powers away with smooth gear shifts, there's not much to worry about. Not many of us are in Sydney to have a look for you. I can't see it on Bikepoint- is it on the 'net?

Gday Dal,
you have come to the right place, post up some pictures and details, and we will give our valued opinions!

Hi Dal, from canberra as well (we will son have record breaking numbers!). If there are some rides going on I will keep you in mind. Do you do any of the MRA, Canberrariders or Ulysses runs?
-
Thanks Saaz Do the occassional run with Ulysses but usually head down the south coast at weekends as we have a shack at Tuross.
I am heading up to Penrith next week to Test ride the ST1300 , also interested in one on Ebay the 08 with 10K for $14.
-
Chops,
Canberra motorcylces Mitchel have an 2003 for $10490, no mention of K's though
-
Its on bikesales. 83,000kms. Has a topbox on it, looks like the Honda one
-
Had a look at the one at CMC nice looking bike , but the one in Penrith is the same age/price with 60K less KM's .
-
Maybe stating the obvious but have you checked out bikesales.com.au ? There seems to be a big variety in year, milage and cost. There are a few subtle changes in 2008 plus models, so would sugest one if you budget will extend that far.
-
Hi Chops and welcome. Either one you are looking at seem to represent good value if in good condition. You would hope so with such low keys on them both. You're lucky to have Saaz in your neck of the woods. Make sure you hook up with him. Never met him myself, but his advice etc on this site is legendary.
Enjoy the ride.
Skip.

I just learnt things from other people who also shared their knowledge, so I hope we can all do the same thing.

Hope that you find your new STead soon, so that you too will know why we love them so much.

Fair enough too saaz we will have to catch up another time , I'm in Page and always up for a ride.
Will see how it looks in the flesh ,he has sent me a few more photos, has a few age scuffs but no damage and I have talked to his mechanic , no issues there.
I am just wondering should I spend an extra 3K (12k) and go after the one in Grafton ,an 06 with 30K on it
What do you guys think is it worth the extra money.
-
I will let ST13 owners provide more details, but 30k kms difference is not that much for these sort of bikes. I think there have been some changes to the 06 model but nothing dramatic. In 100k kms time you would have used that $3000 for other things for sure and either bike would be good for another 100k+. Servicing, condition and what extras you get would be the most important.
A trip to Grafton sounds ok though :)
I used to live in Scullin, knew people in Page, have been all over Canberra since.
