SunSmart Ironman 70.3 Mandurah November 8th 2015
« on: July 31, 2015, 02:41:28 AM »
Hi guys,
I'm in contact with the ironman organisers into motorcycle marshals for an event in Mandurah on November 8th.
Very similar to events we do now, except ironman riders have to ride 190km.
Please let me know who's definitely interested in participating so I can pass numbers onto Ironman.
Last year they paid $70 to cover fuel, I presume this will be the same for this event but will let you know.
It's a good half days work, but very enjoyable.

As you are aware I'm in contact with ironman over the Mandurah event, I've been informed it's being run by the Ulysses group, I just wondered out of the guys who are interested in marshalling this event if you are actually Ulysses members from different branches? Please let me know so I can get back to them.

Hi Pete,
Do you know how many marshals are required and are they specifically looking for Ulysses members??

OK guys, contact made with ironman marshals, payment is $50 cash plus I think fuel voucher paid by ironman on the day, not sure how it works.
Now I need definite numbers for who want to marshal the event so I can get back to them with numbers, add your name to the list below, if you are a ullysses member state which branch too.

Hi guys.
Ironman marshal coordinator has sent me details of event, please pm your email addresses so I can pass them on, I also require your full names and t-shirt sizes for your event shirts.
There is a pre event meeting on the 7th in Mandurah at 1pm to assign pillions to riders.
Thanks

Good morning Pete,

Christopher J Hill (Chris)

My shirt size is a small depending on brand. The pillion passenger sound interesting i hope these pillions have had some previous experience. I am used to my petite 62kg wife on the back (not some 100kg monster waving a camera around  :eek)

Cheers Chris  :blk13

Ok guys, that's 5 confirmed, but could still do with a few more to bring the numbers up, if you've never marshalled before, don't be put off, it's a really enjoyable day out or half a day, little experience required, just need to be able to guide cyclists around a course and keep them safe. Ask any of the marshals.
So c'mon guys try marshalling, we need another 3 riders to boost numbers on the day.
For the marshals that have confirmed there is a pre event meeting on 7th November at 1pm in the car park where Mary street and old coast road join, there's a shopping centre IGA there or alternatively meet at the dome on the foreshore at noon, and maybe go for a outing afterwards depending on how it suits.
This ironman pre event meeting has been stated as preferable but not essential, so if you live a distance away or are busy on Saturday please don't feel obligated that you need to attend.
I will post information here regarding times to be there etc.

Its a bit of a hike to go on the saturday. so if I dont need to go thats good. I am happy to have a pillion, as long as they have a helmet, trousers and good footware. If they are in shorts and thongs they wont ride.

Any info you can get would be good, like meeting point time and duties.
