I have just consolidated all the suggestions for places to go to for parts, both locally and internationally.  I will leave in the subsequent posts as they may have further information in them, or at least those who have used and recommend the place.

I fitted a highflow pump a few months back. They are not the complete unit like the honda oem pump, however, its a straightforward job. You will need to cut the two wires and solder on new terminals, and make up a spacer, as the highflow pump is a little narrower than the oem pump. They work well, solve the problem, and dont break the bank....

A replacement fuel pump for the ST1100.  Mine had the typical heat and altitude failure last year, but after a rest it decided to work.  Conditions were tank on the last 3rd of fuel, up at falls creek after a spirited ride up steep roads and a warm day.  may not happen again, so thinking about doing the replacement anyway.

Not a bad price if it's the complete unit.
