I think I'll give the wet weather riding a miss for tomorrow. Hope to catch up with you all on the next RTE. Thanks.

RIDE REPORTS / 2024-04-20 Wallaroo Ride To Eat
« Last post by Bodø on April 20, 2024, 06:19:35 PM »
Despite the atrocious weather forecast I set out for the Wallaroo Ride To Eat unsure if there was going to be anyone but me, but opted to go anyway.  I set off and took a similar course on a ride I did to Auburn earlier in the month.  I left at about the same 'time' but both trips being either side of daylight savings meant this morning wasn't dark.  These two are from Two Wells and Mallala respectively.

From Halbury I made my way to Blyth, home to another pub I want to check out one day.  This Anzac memorial is at the end of town.

Come to think of it, this course was very similar to my way to the last Wallaroo RTE, where I had planned to go via Port Pirie and aborted due to time.  That day I took the Lochiel to Bute route, this time the Collinsfield to Port Broughton route via Mundoora.  The sealing of this road is relatively recent.

Port Broughton is getting some work done with a new splash pad to open in august.  I think it's an odd thing to open in winter (assuming it means what I think it means).

Cream Puff Corner in Wokurna is so named because of an event that occurs here over easter every year.  I'm curious to check it out but forget about it when easter comes along.

I didn't see any STs today but did spot another Goldwing in Kadina.

Group photo at the Wallaroo Ale House before having lunch.  This is now offically the smallest RTE I have attended.

The ride home was the straightest way possible - The Copper Coast, Yorke and Wakefield highways.  I'm looking forward to Balranald next month.
