Slab Coffee Table
« on: September 22, 2016, 06:38:47 PM »
A couple of years ago Chris was keen to use a timber slab from a tree felled in our daughter's front yard, and turn it into a small coffee table.  The project has been an on-again  off-again job, but I've finally finished it off.  Here's a couple of pics.

Yes, a lot of work, and Estapol.
AND a fork lift to get it in from the shed to the lounge room!!    :H

Thanks for the positive comments.   The project involved LOTS of sanding, and I finished it with four coats of a Cabots water based gloss floor finish, to give a hard wearing surface.   It's not very big, with the top being around 600 x 380mm but for it's size it is weighty and can't be easily knocked over.
