PC has been on the road with me today. We left Warwick at 8am bound for Hervey Bay. We stopped at Hip Pocket Toowoomba to see Streak and Teela and their new baby. There were plenty of coppers, idiot drivers, and a stray cow on the road today. A decent walk, a couple of beers at a nice bar by the beach, and pizza for tea completed a good day. PC heads south to Daybro for the RTE tomorrow, and my destination is Emu Park or Yepoon.

I spent almost two years of my life in this area in the early 70's, Moura, Kianga, Peak Downs, Blackwater and Saraji coal mines as a maintenance electrician. Then went back to the area for Exercise Kangaroo III with the army 3 years later, based halfway between Rocky and Emu park for a couple months.
Memories ... Visited the area again in 1983 & 2013

It was a simple run up the Bruce Slab today and I feel that my endless days of Mountain riding have come to an end. Emu Park is a beautiful little town on the coast, inland from Rocky, and home to the famous Singing Ship. Clear skies, a bit of humidity, and mid 20's have been the order of the day.
