As posted here http://ozstoc.com/index.php?topic=2021.msg69723#msg69723 the plans for our attendance for the rally are on hold until a job offer is confirmed or not.

I should know one way or the other on/about 12th Feb.

Have been waiting for some confirmation of dates from work before committing to the national meet.

It looks like the planets have aligned and I am now able to attend.

Please add me to the list.

Thanks to olegeezer... it's now the Inter-National OzSTOC Rally 2014.   :clap

Yes Sir Big Ted, I'm in (as best I know). One of my Aussie swapmate friends has made a reservation in Ballarat for me. I hope to have two other riders with me. We won't be on STs but I don't think you'll mind.
I'm in Los Angelos due to flight delays from a snow storm, etc back east. Arriving in Melbourne around noon on Friday, Feb 7.
Looking forward to it.
Cheers

What a room or cabin?  I would've thought Andy would be taking his Elite camper trailer behind the Goldwing.  The Queen size bed would have been a cosy fit for three old que ........

I'm guessing the 3 gentleman in question are not long term residents of Queensland.
By method of deductive reasoning i have concluded you are inferring they are all fans of the musical talents of Elton John  :whistle

They might have the cabin next to yours.

Probably worthwhile adding Andy and Max (olegeezer Joe's mates, from Victoria) to the numbers in this category.

Equals 98, getting close .......

if they bring their wives, or get lucky on the way, we could have 100.  :runyay

It grieves me to report...

Youngster won't be coming to Ballarat.

He's bought a Beemer!!!!    :eek     :Whipped

Yep- traded the ST on a Beemer.
He won't say how much money they had to give him.

He was on a ride with me today.

My flabber has never been so ghasted!

I hate being the bearer of bad news.

(It's an absolutely beautiful bike).
For the modern man who lives in the city, riding a bike might be one of the only ways to escape the humdrum monotony. To take off and ride. To be both at one with nature and one with the bike. To feel masculine. Adam Piggott

Is there an itinerary for the rally yet?

Will there be a formal (using the term loosely of course) dinner? With speeches and awards and....stuff?  I'm pretty sure I will be in my car and I can only stay the one night.

During the days, all those who can, should be off exploring the area. Lots of great rides to suit day or half day trips................ I am so bloody jealous! My "formative" motorcycling years were spent riding through much of this area (and a good chunk of the rest of Victoria too).

Ahhhh!, those were the days....of course there would be a lot more traffic now, and many, many more (and much, much less tolerant) police officers. My own policy now is to stay within the rules, where possible (there has to bes a hidden disclaimer in that statement). I want to retain the ability to ride for as long as I can. I see it as a privilege, one not extended to many. The right to use a potentially lethal, fire breathing, projectile like machine, as personalized transport on public roads. Surely that has to be a privilege. And despite earlier suggestions to the contrary, I am not indestructible. This may still come as a surprise to some.

If somebody invented the first motorcycle tomorrow, it would only live to see the light of day in fringe and underground clubs (and YouTube, probably). There would be so many restrictions imposed that "ordinary" folk like us wouldn't get a look in.

Through the retrospectroscope, there are some parts of my youth I would not want to relive, for I may not survive a second time. Of course, there was never certainty the first time. Just a hope. Hang on and hope - might have been sage advice to my pillions on occasion.

What has changed? What was once youthful exuberance, is now front page news.

Ahhhh! those were the days.

Hi Bluey

I'm sure one of the organisers will answer your question a little better than me, but from past experience Friday night there's an informal meet and greet, Saturday an organised ride and photo opportunity with a informal/formal dinner with a guest speaker (last year's speaker was brilliant and this years will be equally entertaining) very shorts speaches and some fun awards. Sunday some rides to choos from or go your own way.

Things may differ slightly depending on the organisers. But one thing is for sure, everyone enjoys it.

Over to you guys Streak, Diesel and Marcus.

Hi Bluey,
Yes there will be an itinerary sent out to everyone, in the week... If you only have one night might I suggest the Saturday night, As that will be the main Dinner.

Stay Tuned .
