I'm in the process of getting everything I need to install my cb. As it is a car unit I plan on mounting it similar to what Brock has done my main problem comes in way of antenna I know i am going to need a ground plane independent antenna but all the ones I'm looking at seem to have way too much cable. Also would 3db gain be ok.
any and all advice on antenna would be appreciated as doing this install is all new to me.
cheers Paul

Paul,
The GME, or Oricom is what I have used. I cut the antenna cable to length. I actually cut the cable near the antenna, where the cable tucks in under the duck tail. I used the mini connectors from Jaycar. They crimp on.
