It's a cold Friday morning here at the WAG house, where I arrived before 4.00 yesterday. I left just before sunrise, had a good run for the day, with a decent stop at Geraldton. There I spent some time chatting with a young bloke from Melbourne on Bandit, who is doing a lap, and we swapped stories. I had a "moment" while passing a slow car and caravan, which was following a slow 4WD. I pinned the throttle hard to pass before an oncoming car and got to Warp 4+ before pulling back in. The on coming car was a Highway Patrol
and I was watching my mirrors for the next half hour, expecting to see a Christmas tree behind me, coming to enact some hoon legislation or remove my licence from my wallet. After a lot of straight roads, it was nice to find the sweeping bends between Geraldton and Northampton. Mitch and Margret came over for tea last night, Therese excelled with a lovely home cooked meal, and we had a lovely evening.
I now have a plan for the last week of my trip, and it goes like this, unless it changes....
Friday. Perth. New tyre for the front, washing, shopping etc, and Alfreds RTE for tea.
Saturday. Perth and a Spare day for whatever needs doing, and explore Perth
Sunday. Albany via Augusta
Monday. Day off in Albany, where I need to catch up with a doctor for a routine injection that will be due
Tuesday. Norseman via Esperence
Wednesday. Eucla
Thursday. Streaky Bay where I will meet my brother who is driving from Adelaide to meet me.
Friday. Tummy Bay via Port Lincoln
Saturday. Home, with a stop at Port Augusta east side OTR at 12.00 midday to meet a friend who is riding up from Adelaide to escort me home.
