Next SE Qld SATURDAY Feb 11
« on: January 12, 2012, 12:47:17 PM »
Here we go - here is a great one we did and worthy of another run......

Everyone is welcome to join us for this ride and, as always I tell folks that if I don't hear back from you, I don't expect you on the day, and we don't wait/worry if you're turning up or not. So make sure to confirm if you're IN (mainly so I can reserve a table for the appropriate number of ST pilots/pillions wherever we eat/drink).

If you're def IN, send me (privately) your Mob no. so I can notify you if any late changes that may affect the ride. (0466 494 334). Due to safety, and the nature of the twisty roads we ride, we do not go out in the rain, and I like to notify everyone if there's a late announcement, or if you're late but definitely IN, I can find out what plans to make on the day.

ROUTE / ITINERARY:

OK.... picture this folks.....

The meeting place is at the BP Servo at North McLean (B on map)  SATURDAY Feb 11 at 8.30am. We then head off down the Waterford/Tamborine Road and climbing the lovely Tamborine Mtn for a cappuccino break at the Spice Of Life Deli. (C on map)

After this refreshment stop, there is a most enjoyable ride around Mt Tamborine, down to Canungra (D on map) where the fun really starts.

You will find yourself sharing the road with like-minded ST pilots & pillions on 80klms of some of the world's best motorcycling roads through Beechmont, Advancetown and Natural Bridge. (Might even stop to watch a few hang gliders launch off the mountain top!)

With your senses still on a high, and the adrenalin level in the red zone, we cross the border, head through Crystal Creek and enter the scenic Murwillimbah Valley. We'll do a (short) scenic lap of Murwillimbah before pulling in to the Imperial Hotel for a great steak and beer... err.. lunch.

We then exit Murwillimbah and head to the finish point over the range at Brunswick Heads (F on map). This is a great end to a great day.

From there, it's either - stay the night at a motel you've pre-booked on the Tweed/Gold Coast and head home in a leisurely manner the next day, or - scoot up the express way back to metropolis.

Enjoy......

I will be leaving BP Burpengary Service Centre SOUTHBOUND at 7.30am - so if you'd like to join me on the blast down to the meeting point, pick your entry point and time and look for a Candy ST13 that sometimes runs on diesel, and join in. I can take calls on 0466 494 334 whilst mobile as well if you'd like to check my possie. For you Gold Coasties - be sure to join us for all or part of the ride.

Hope to see you there,

Diesel

PS - I'm glad this is in the QLD section so those Westies don't get too stressed about losing their hotly guarded WORLD RECORD for OzSTOC shirts photographed at RTEs!

Still a few weeks out but I have penciled this one into the calendar. Hope to meet a few of the new faces here in SE QLD. Will confirm 100% closer to the date Diesel, and if so, I'll join you at the BP Burp.
I'll be the one on the  :blu13
Cheers.

Carrol (wife) and I should also be in :) but won’t be able to confirm until closer to the date.
I'm a shift worker & the wife works some weekends, we just have to make sure we won't have to work… But at this point in time we won’t be required to  :runyay

It'll be good to meet a few more of the local guys  :wht11 :blk11 :blu13 :rd13

Sounds like the perfect ride, Diesel. Count me in on this one & I'll try and farm the kids off so the trouble & strife can come. Will confirm whether it's 1 or 2 soon.

Could I suggest you relocate the picturesque park stop. Instead of Tumblegum the suggestion end should be Brunswick Heads.
Instead of going north out on Murwillimbah take a right turn and south on the road to Mooball. Except for a speed camera on top of the range there is perfect ST country on the old pacific highway. Awesome way to finish the day. Big sweeping corners going up and over the range. Pure Bliss.

Well seeing as you're all going to be on my side of the World I hardly have an excuse.

I'll be there, but I doubt I'll be able to drag the Chief along.

Be good to finally meet some of the faces behind the names.

Come on Diesel, ya gonna change the last little bit or do Barry, Marissa and I stage a bit of a coup and run away with some of the gang for a bit more adrenalin seeking.  Road out to Tumblegum is really boring folks. Flat cane fields.

It may be flat boring cane fields, but it's still fantastic being on an ST, in any terrain I reckon.

There's a "list"?

Whatever...  I think I got a leave pass this arvo.  Might be bikos I was a good boy and went to the Bikers' Blessing   :thumbsup  :halo emoticon

Geez Royce - great timing mate. I'm confident you will do everything humanly possible to resolve this issue and be a starter on Saturday.     :||||

If there's anything this great bunch of folks can do to help - ask away ol mate.
