Amazing number of women in m/c history!
I see most wore some sort of hat or beanie to hold their brains in if they had a bad prang.  The shoes were often more a nod to fashion than practicality, too.

Pi 1.  Whoa.  Don't mess with those gals!!

Pic 9.  British weather and beanies and overcoats to fend it off.  And a dog on the tank.  Thank goodness they've outlawed that dangerous folly!   :whistle

Pic 11.  Would you lean into a corner on gravel like that on a modern bike?  Tough lady!

50cc in a TT race! (pic 24)  Obviously a special division.

Ciggies, pullovers and suits. (pic 19)  All you need, really.

For the modern man who lives in the city, riding a bike might be one of the only ways to escape the humdrum monotony. To take off and ride. To be both at one with nature and one with the bike. To feel masculine. Adam Piggott

Interesting step through's in some of the pictures. Apart from the Honda Cub or postee bike I don't think anyone makes them these days.   :thumb  :thumb  :thumb
I acknowledge hardworking Australians no matter who they are or where they come from. All those who have contributed to this wonderful country deserve an equal share of gratitude for their contributions. To single any group of individuals out for special homage only denigrates the rest of us.

It's the "old fashioned" look that appeals to you, these days.  Right?
