Mr and Mrs Streak 13th and 14th, Riding home 15th
Diesel is IN!!!!
I've booked...I just got off the phone to them.
ONE CABIN LEFT
Get in quick, they said they are rebuilding and may have more by the time the meet rolls around.
Maybe Lifeline can give you the extra time you need. :p
Just tried to book, But they said not to ring till march as the new cabins should be in by then. They will be more expensive they reckon. They said they cant take anymore names as they have nothing to book those names against.
Hmm... :think1 do I book the ferry trip even though there may or may not be accommodation available..my head hurts :o|||Don't sweat it mate, there's a extra bunk in my cabin if you can put up with my snoring :p
Cheers
Benita's pretty easy on the eyes too :thumbsupJust tried to book, But they said not to ring till march as the new cabins should be in by then. They will be more expensive they reckon. They said they cant take anymore names as they have nothing to book those names against.
Benita is the Manager there, she seems to have things well in hand.
Good Stuff! i am looking forward to posting the National get together photo with all our shirts on, from all states,

That's good you really don't one of me with my shirt off
Well - maybe our Pillions could do that for us! :o
Bloody hell...why is April so far away...I'm ready now!
Hi all. I'm a possible starter for the Blackheath gathering, and if I look like I'm free to go, I'll book an unpowered tent site in the next couple of months. How many people have expressed interest so far?
Cheers
Pete
Ha! I wouldn't be surprised if you tried to wangle out a reccy over Xmas Stringo. I reckon we all have itchy throttle fingers!!! :rofl
John Baker, jwbeng245,will be attending the national rally and will bring the ST1100 powered JZR three wheeler. I have booked an unpowered campsite for one as the cabins seem to be booked out. That's gotta be a draw card in itself
three wheeler.
Couldn't be any worse than the old Honda 3 wheeler death trapsYeah....turn the wheel and they kept going straight or tip over :cuss
All beds taken unless someone pulls out. Should be a few spare beds between us.
All beds in my cabin taken, unless you are better looking but that would mean a great improvement from memory >:()
... Depends what ride we do saturday...
How many are going now?
Got two emails this morning abt the rally.
Both from people who spend their weekends going to rallies.
Seems they have put this national in the diary since it talks abt vendors, bbq's and socialising.
Both found it on facebook.
Neither are ST riders so makes one wonder how many other drop ins we may get.
Should the words be changed. Perhaps point out it is ST only.
Or worse still, it could turn into an event we don't want our image associated with.
Better suggestion would be to remove it from facebook and other similar pages.
Take it out of the viewing of the non ST people.
Since it's in a popular ride location down there could already be of cockroaches who have pencilled it in.
Silly question why do we need facebook and similar. Is there any advantage.
Any members joined after finding us there.
Sure sounds like it needs to be reined in or it will lose the whole intention of being an ST Rally!
Or worse still, it could turn into an event we don't want our image associated with
It may be possible to warn the managers of the site not to book in anyone not from the STOC fraternity. That should keep out undesirables.
And no bad jokes about Sandgropers here- this is meant to be serious
Absence make the heart grow fonder...so I'm told
Negotions over, LOTO :-++ has in her wisdom granted me temporary absence to attend. :runyay :beer
I have just booked the last cabin so there may be a couple of spare beds available. :thumbsup
Now to start planning the ride and getting the bike ready. :think1
A bit worried that LOTO :-++ caved so easily ! I wonder what she has up her sleeve ? :fp
Looking forward seeing you all there. :beer :grin :beer :grin
:blk13
So it looks like she will be able to come along to the National Rally with me :runyayGood news Barry...as my grandmother always says..."There's no show, without punch"
Marissa went to work yesterday and the office manager asked if anyone wanted to take some time off after Easter as 2 of the doctors were taking time off?
So it looks like she will be able to come along to the National Rally with me :runyay
I'll have a chat with John, there's a double bed somewhere in the cabin that I'm sure I can bride him for
Cheers
Barry
I thought you were taking Marissa?
how do i find a member in Newcastle
to look over a bike for me ??
help please
thanx Barry
from Newcastle it is about an 8 hour ride in one hit
can i sustain that sort of concentration,
and will my skinny rear end cope with that much workload
Harieg, this isn't like a Ulysses AGM, you don't pay any "Rego", just book you sleeping space, and let us know you're coming.
Bikes being shown? Yours, mine, and everyone else's :thumbsup
Where's it being held besides Blackheath? Now that's a hard one :think1
We might not be able to attend this year as much as we'd like to. Plans are on hold, not cancelled as it depends on my dad.
Looks like he's going to Perth ((to vist my sis) yeah!! I'm related to a sandgroper........lol) in May and he is deciding to go by car or train and he put forward the suggestion that we should go in ours. I'm hoping he goes by train 'cause it's only $380-440 return for him as opposed tp $1100 return for the car.
Hey there people, can someone tell me a little about where we are having dinner on the friday and saturday nights of the national rally? How formal do we need to dress. lol.Very
Formal, ?????spoilsport :cuss :well :rofl
Where can you hang a Suit on an ST. As far as I an concerned, formal is the cleanest Jeans and OzSToc shirt that you have with you at the time.
Will there be a dance floor???
Thanks for those comments, so I take it as being at the local pub. Still, some of us like to dress up a bit more than others. Will there be a dance floor???
Our travel plans involve leaving Brissie early on thursday the 12th, out to Warwick and down the New England Hwy. I hope to get to Scone for the evening. Now that may sound boring but anything north of Armidale is a weekend trip for me so I want to get south.
Friday gets nicer with a trip through the Bylong Valley, Rhylstone and onto Bathurst, then down through Oberon and onto Lithgow.
Our trip home will see us on the Bells Rd, Putty Rd and Thunderbolts Way on Sunday. I'll decide when we get to Walcha whether we go down to Port Macquarie or onto Armidale for the night. If its Armidale then we do the Waterfall way the next day.
Anyone who likes the sound of this is welcome to get in touch.

Up dating this to say dad looks like taking his own car, no doubt his last driving trip across to WA.
But as for us attending.
So far we cannot find a dog sitter which would mean only myself attending and Heather staying home.
But his may cause us to cancel the trip completely:-
Heather's sister is having medical issues which so far means a trip to Whyalla on the 10th April
So it's all down to last minute for that final decision as to go or not.
of course with no bike, I'll have to be a couch potato on Sat.If you have your helmet, you can come on the back of my bike on the Saturday ride Harry.
Mornin' All...
Before l phone the park, just wondering if u need to bring your own bedding for the cabins?
Cheers Dick:-)
As scarp has said have a safe trip people and maybe next year WA hold the event :popcorn
Make sure lots of pics of the event
And Mitch thanks being the WA member heading over sorry I could not join you on the long haul over the Nullabour

I am a John in real life (as opposed to a Dave which is quite common :) I know a few of these rascals as I have met them over the years (Greencan, Barry (& Marissa who is the best part), Diesel, Streak, Beatup - never met Laurie yet) I too have a spare seat for any who may have the bike gear, but the LT1200 is probably a better place to be! I still have to work on Terry and Lionel from Canberra to see if they are coming

How about you tell us all why the LT1200 is probably the "better" place to be on Friday night John (if that's your real name) :grin
Well, my bikes all cleaned up after the 4 day Easter ride
I have also spent the day (on & off) cleaning and checking the :bl11 all is what it should be, just gotta sort what I need to bring...and head for the boat....
See you in a few days..
Cheers
Kev
Barry is a Long Term OzSTOC Member, he has had the ST1100, the ST1300, at the moment he has an BMW LT1200, he has been involved longer and done more for this group than most.
Sorry guys but I was out of the loop about accommodations... I am coming from Sydney and I want to know if any one has a bed to spare Friday night (I will share costs of course). I will have to go back to Sydney Saturday afternoon. Please let me know... :slvr13
Hey Barry, Ive made room in the shed for the L1200 Battlestar for ya for tommorrow night. All I ask is that you remove the Klingons from the starboard bow before docking.......
Laurie

Forgot to mention.............
Because many of you are travelling on new and previously unridden road routes....
BE VERY CAREFUL AND VIGILANT OF FLOOD DAMAGED ROAD SURFACES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
These can be in the form of pot holes, wash-outs, gravel and rocks on the corners, slippery-mossy corners that are constantly in shaded mountain twisties, wildlife, and of course - those BLEEPIN CAGE DRIVERS WHO OWN THE ROAD!
Stay safe - say G'day to Diesel when you get there.
Cheers, Diesel
For those who have been too scared to look - especially the Queenslanders

Closest seems to be Katoomba and the temp will top out at nice balmy 19 both Fri and Sat.
Low is a very scary 7-8
Teela and I are safe and well in the Woongarra motel in North Haven near Port Maquarie, 643km down for the day, looking for bed and back into it toomorrow
one of them was that riding the american way is not healthy for my bike,
"Tell me, are the speed limits in the States still 65mph? I have ridden there but not for many years, and did so after coming straight from UK where the motorway speed limit is 70mph but most people (used to) do 80 or 90 mph, including the trucks and coaches. Before that I rode in Germany for a while where the autobahn has no speed limit except for a minimum one, so 65 mph seemed really slow, especially outside town."

Anyone care to explain this for those of us who might not know......like me.....lol
He wasn't aware it pays to get into top gear as soon as practical if you want to ride economically- apparently Yanks ride around town in 4th so they can accelerate at a moment's notice. I pointed out the STs pull away from 60 in top without any stress if you want them to.
I am back after taking a more convolued way home to the ACT. Suffice to say that someone did the Jenolan Caves road on the way home, and some other gravel back roads.we all know fish DONT HAVE THEM
For those who could not make it, we had a really rubbish time :runyay :beer :eat
Pictures and stories to come in a while after I have sorted through what I have, and what lies others post up :rofl
We had fishballs as a nibble on Friday night in honour of Brock.
LOLGot it, wasn't funny :butt
LMAO
it went straight OVER the head of all of you
just my 2c worth on what gear to ride in. most speedos are up to 10% inaccurate ie reading 100kph actual 90/91. I allow for this when riding. ie in a 100 zone i actuatly sit on 110 by the speedo in 5th gear. When sitting on this speed the st13 is doing 3,500 rpm. I would assume this is mr hondas sweet spot for the engine. at 90ks in 4th the engine is doing 3,500 revs and at 66/70 ks in 3rd guess what 3,500 revs. I ride 70 odd ks per day to work a combination of all of the above speeds and I reguarly get 430to 460ks before low fuel light starts flashing showing 70 to 90ks to empty.
Cheers Greg
Tony, good to see you at least briefly. Work calls I suppose, but at least you are paid to ride around. Some time you should post up how the FJR is, as it seems like a great bike. Too many great bikes around so just have to stay with the ST11.

Typical Murphy's Law.....should never try and plan anything at work! Will get around to a write up on the FJR. Yep...too many choices regarding heavy weight tourers Saaz, but at the end of the day I reckon you'd be surprised at how relevant the ST1100 still is......and for a lot less money!
Sounds like a load of fun was had by all, almost wish i was there.
